I think it was a Bowlachili, made in a ristorante, I mean work shop, deep in the hills of Tuscany.

Of course, even if we were to find out it'll be boring and we'll hate that we cared so much!

Carbon fiber is a composite material, why do you people obsess over the grade of fiber but never ask about the resin that is used to hold it all together. The fibers would fall apart completely without resin but resin gets ignored as if it plays no part in the finished material. Some of the greatest differences in carbon of today compared with 20 years ago are based around how and what resin is used.
I couldnt care less if my frame had HM fibers if they were all set in dried hair gel or similar.
Go ride your bike and stop asking half arsed questions that if were answered fully and correctly you wouldnt understand anyway.

You're right. I was kind of shocked to find this out. When I made that first post and said "Colnagos are nice Italian bikes," I guess I was taking their word for it. Colnago advertises all over their website how their frames are designed, built, and painted in Italy. What gives? That explains why the CX-1 frameset goes for so much less than the EPS or M10.
I'm definitely not anti-Asia, but I'm definitely against selling Asian-built bikes for a premium just because an Italian brand is painted on it. But since I can't do anything about it I'll be honest and say that it really doesn't matter. A good bike is a good bike and where it is made has nothing to do with the quality of the bike itself. I just don't like being misled, that's all.
With that said, the CX-1 looks like a hell of a ride for the money. Anyone know which Colnago frames (if any) are truly made in Italy then?

Since I have received much encouragement and pressure to reveal the make and model of my bike, I will do so now. It's a Bobolini SL (SL = Super Light) named after a Tour de France and Giro Italia wannbe, Angelo Bobolini.
Having failed four times to qualify, Angelo felt an impending sense of doom. He thought his life was over. Then, during a lunar eclipse, an angel came to Angelo and said, "Despair not, I bring you tidings of great joy." In Milan, you shall give birth to a bicycle company and you shall name it Bobolini to redeem yourself and all of Italy. So Angelo did what the angel told him. His company never redeemed Italy but Angelo redeemed himself. Today, at 90, Angelo sits at home and watches tapes of European bicycle races where Bobolinis are ridden by the best riders in the world. Important note: Knock off Bobolinis are being sold at Wal Mart. Don't fall for it.
For those who took this thread seriously and could live with not knowing the brand and model of my bike, kudos! For those who took this thread seriously but had to know, my thanks to you as well and some good news. The sun will come up at dawn and everything will be okay. For those of you who did not take this thread seriously, and who hacked around, maybe there are better things you can do with your time.
Happy holidays!
