Hehehehehehe!!

But actually ... we've just recently come out of a very long, cool, wet, rainy winter and spring ... straight into a weird summer where it is cool, rainy for a several days then suddenly hot and sunny for a few days, then back to cool and rainy. So those occasional days where it is actually warm and sunny are lovely.
Saturday reached 31C, Sunday (yesterday) was 34C ... today reached only 23C and tonight is going down to 9C. I'm actually wearing socks this evening!!

I'm probably one of the hardest MF's when it comes to hard physical activity in zero degree weather.
But I'm a big p*$$y when it comes to getting my road bike all crudded up with crap and salt.
It might just be a lowly CAAD, but it's gorgeous and it's not the bike I want to subject to the winter on wet days.
Have my fingers crossed for a CX I have my eye on. That female dog I will ride into the ground for sure.
Till then, the MTB will do nicely (and sometimes the SS).

I live in Southern California so I dont ever have an off season. However I don't ride when its raining or if its ass cold out. While not as cold as other climates, its a good enough excuse to stay in and play with my son.

I happily ride on the types of surfaces you posted, but not on skinnies... I bow to your brand of crazy.

I have a RB/MTB/SS/Dork Bike (old 3 speed).
I NEED a CX and an uber-Carbon custom built dream bike + a PK Ripper
BMX bike and a 5.5"+ All Mountain machine (Turner 5.5 Spot).

I was thinking about getting a hunko junko off of CL, and fixing it up as a CX bike. That would have two benefits, I would learn about the mechanics more and would result in a CX bike. I just have no idea what road bike frames will work as a CX bike. There is a thread in the CX forum that has a list of manufactures. I wonder if there is somekind of spec that I need to pay attention to, as far as size for the wheels and tires, or can you just put them on any roadbike frame? I need to do more research.

I was thinking it might be something like that. I probably then need to get a list together of frames and sizes that are CX and just check CL periodically. The only problem with CL is that sometimes I think half the stuff on there is stolen, because people have absolutely no idea about what they are selling.

In most of the US high 40's or low 50's isn't cold, but there are other options besides riding outside. If it was a weekend and cold, I would ride anyway. During the week, I would do a spin class, swim or play racket ball. I want to improve my cardio fitness and there are other ways of getting a workout.
