Strange question about Kestrel?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Strange question about Kestrel?

I'm looking at the new Kestrel RT800sl...but hate the 3 green strips they have on it. Does anyone know if on the new Kestrel the frame stickers can be removed or do they have some sort of hard coat over them??

I just don't favor green on a bike.

Most bikes have them under the clear coating, but I don't know for certain on this model.

Me too. But at the same time, I can't recall any higher end bike of recent vintage having decals you can peel off, ie. not clearcoated.

The green is paint, not a sticker. I do have to say though, the bike looks much better and you don't notice the green as much once you switch tires.

Here is mine and I am not a fan of the green either but I don't pay nearly as much attention to it now. As an added bonus you don't see the green while riding it.

Oh well; maybe I can cut and put a sticker over it.

Personally, I'd lose the pump before I lost the green stripes or get a smaller one you can run alonside your front bottle cage. I'd be less obvious there.

The bike doesn't belong to the OP, it is mine. This is my winter/rain/beater bike. I couldn't care less about the way it looks so the pump stays.

Find a nice RT 900 SL frame on Ebay for a few $ more. Black with white lettering, looks very sharp.
