New Road Thread Needed

Geez...try and have a little fun in this thread by engaging in a little trash talk and some of ya blow your stack. Just trying to have a little fun, 53-11 style!!

I think another thread is needed, "Road Cycling for the Sensitive Type."

I think pinky is ready to sign up.

I think anyone with an user ID like 'TripleCrank' should be automatically blocked from the Road Section. :D

Well, I'm so hardcore that this weekend I broke my frame. It just couldn't take the kind of riding of which I'm capable. So much for steel is real - I need something really tough like cast iron, none of these darn hollow frames made of weedy tubes. :)

Erm, sorry...

mirona 11-01-04 06:55 AM

Last month I was riding along and decided to start sprinting. So I jump out of the saddle and accelerate so fast that my rear tire blows. RAWWRRRR

PS I can bench like 5000 lbs...With my head.

Anyone know where I can get inconel 718 steel toothed chain rings? I ruined another big ring by stripping the teeth clean off while doing wind sprints up the side of my neighbors barn. Darn wimparse aluminum. Can I get rings in that new fancy carbon stuff :p

I wouldn't recommend a 718 tooth chainwheel; not without a chain guard for your balls.

My bike is basically a bustop on wheels, without the roof

Dave Moulton 11-01-04 08:29 AM

I remember back in the old days we couldn't afford cycling shoes, so we nailed the cleats directly to our bare feet. ;)

CLEATS?!?!?!? Jeez, we've got a millionaire here.

We only had pedal spindles made with bamboo that we had to screw through our feet!!!!

catatonic 11-01-04 09:02 AM

pedals.....PEDALS.....what the ____?

We don't need no steeking pedals!!!!

Heck, I managed to pull a century last week by merely throwing my bike in a radom direction, and running after it. HA!
