Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Will it be okay to store wheels outside?

I have a set of Alum ROL wheels that I would like to store on my outside belcony in a wheel shipping card board box. The belcony does get exposed to sunlight part of the day but the wheels will be in a box so its not direct sunlight.

I live in Asia so that its getting warm/hot and humidity is high. Will this affect bearings, oil, etc?

Would it be okay to store them outside? My belcony is locked so its safe, its not even a real belcony, its to hang clothes etc. A person cannot stand on the belcony and its well above 8 stories high.
Thanks

Definitely, I have over a dozens wheelsets that I keep stored outside at my place. The only issue is wiping the pollen off them when I grab one that hasn't been used in a while.

I am assuming it's not going to get rained on, but even then you'd probably be all right, you'd just want to make sure the bearings were good before riding.

Thanks, well they will be in a box. The type of box that you get when you buy from an online shop or when your ship. A shipping wheel box, i dont know how else to explain it. So it should be protected from pollen.

I hope mold or anyting wont grow due to the humidity but that will be the same issue if its is indoors as well... eh Ill prob give it a try.

They should be fine, but if you store them in a cardboard box, just make sure there is some venting to allow air flow around the insides of the box.. That should help to prevent any mold.
