Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Heel Rub and frame integrity

Hello.

I am interested in purchasing a frame, and the driver's side chainstay has some significant heel rub, resulting in a raw spot.

Here is a picture:

I am not interested in discussing pricing, sourcing, purchase suggestions or any other sort of opinions for this item, all I want to know is if this bald spot has a serious affect on the frame's integrity.

In case it wasn't obvious, the frame in question is a CAAD frame.

looks just like the paint is gone. should be fine. i was expecting it to be a carbon frame. since its alu and it just has the paint rubbed of you should be fine. if there was a dent, crease, or crack then you might have more to worry about.

Weird, but I wouldn't be worried about it.

Wow, that is strangely oval/uniform.

Either the person has a perfect pedal stroke or its not caused by heel rub
