Looking for a Commuter
I found this bike on my local craigslist. It's a 90's Giant RS940. Can't find much info on it on the internet unfortunately. The seller has it listed for $75 or best offer.

Would this be a good candidate for a commuter bike? I'd be looking at putting a rack and panniers on it.
Does anyone here know about these bike at all?

If it fits you I would guess it would make for an acceptable commuter. Fact is, you can commute on almost any bicycle. It's all a matter of how comfortable you are on it given the distance that you need to travel and what you need to carry with you, as well as the environment you will be in. I believe the ideal commuter is a bicycle designed as a commuter. However, I know (and see guys) on very nice, high end bikes commuting to work daily. I also see lots of guys commuting on girlie bikes and bikes running on their last "legs". It sure beats walking and/or taking the bus!
