Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I try to choose black, simply because it's "slimming".

Not so much matching color; but a shirt with four holes, and shorts with three holes is a prerequisite for me.
(In the right places, of course)

My bicycle is titanium.

Wearing grey, silver, and titanium-like colours would be pretty boring.

I do, however, have a titanium-coloured helmet for when I ride that bicycle. I'd like to get a green helmet eventually to go with the green handlebar tape.

My bike is black and white. My shoes are black and white. But I only got those because they fit, and were on clearance.

Otherwise, black and white would be boring! So, no. Also, I like beer jerseys

I won a jersey, bib shorts and socks from Cervelo Rosso a few months ago and the colours go perfectly with my bike. I was so impressed.

There's got to be some owners who really care about what they wear as far as fashion. What puzzles me is that there are more comments about the appearance of the bike itself. Especially a high priced road bike with little flair for fashion. How many times have I seen negative comments about the color schemes of a bike.

For many years Cervelo colors were black, white, and red combinations.

yea I guess I do;

My bikes are one black, and one white.

My shorts are black, and most of my tops are white.
And my helmet is white. ( It's hot down here)
My shoes are black.

So I guess I do. It surely wasn't thought out that way.

Seems like at least 75% of all bikes are some combination of red, black and white. Same with cycling clothing. Try to find something with a little blue (wheels, stems, seats, jerseys...) and you are SOL.

I match entirely to much. Bike is red, black with a white base (same as helmet), bartape, saddle tires are all black. Shorts are black, shoes are black with red and white, black Speedplay Light Actions. The only thing I keep different is the shirt. I find wearing a red shirt leads to me having issues with gravity....so out of superstition I don't wear red shirts while riding that bike.

What happens if you change the color of your handlebar tape?

On the shorts, I'm assuming you want 1 hole in the front and 1 in back so any time you need to go to the bathroom you have easy access, however I'm not sure what the third hole could possibly be for.

I mean, after all, you couldn't have possibly meant two leg holes and a waist hole since shorts, and more generally pants, by definition have these three holes and so just by calling them shorts you necessarily implied that the 3 holes you were talking about were distinct.

You're over-analyzing something that should be immediately dismissed.

I'd have to convince Rowan to change the colour of my fork to match the new colour of the handlebar tape ... and buy a new helmet.
