Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

wow rmr, you got a nice brakeset with ultegra pads on them. lucky.

https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=330553882170

are they usually that cheap because that seems pretty darn cheap. is my bike even worth upgrading parts like that, i wouldnt mind paying 20 dollars for a 105 brake set with pads. the ones i have are tiagra right?
yep it was a pretty good deal, and no i don't think they're usually that cheap. and why did you decline the $20 offer? you could buy a carbon-fiber-ish bottle holder with that.

and since you're looking at my ebay profile, you should track down the dude that bought that Hurst shift knob and buy it from him. that thing would look sweet on the end of your aero bars.

EDIT: and yes, the Fuji would be worth upgrading with parts like the 105 brakeset (assuming you find good deals), but i guess that doesn't really matter now that you're selling it. do yourself a favor.. take the auction down and keep riding that thing. save up for a year or 2 and then treat yourself to a new bike. and in the meantime STOP MESSING WITH STUFF THAT ISN'T BROKEN!!!!

how do you not know you're about to run out? wait. n/m

I say go for the CX bike and then ride some trails. At least you'll be off the road.

there's always something positive to be said.

just keep your bike and ride it. no more upgrades until something brakes. take that silly auction down. no one's going to pay that for the bike.

this is what the guy said.
To answer your questions. The giant only has one water bottle cage and I am seeking a bike with two. I have taken off the wide tires and have installed Michelin Pro Race 3 tires on the bike so no fattys. The giant also has carbon fork but aluminum frame. I would want my pedals so you would be welcome to keep what you have already. It also uses a 31.8 stem that I have upgraded but has a broken off allen head in it that I never took to get removed. But a shop should be able to yank that out. I have also changed the stock seat on the giant to a Fizik Arione. It you send me your cell number I can send you a pic.

that is the only thing wrong with the cyclocross is that allen head thing. that bike is pretty decent if he wants to trade me right. he said he upgraded tires to michelin pro 3 road tires so i am good to go on the tires. i want to do this trade, but is there anything i should be worried about.

No, you don't seem like the kind to worry about anything. Just keep doing what the voices tell you.

that offer of 525 may seem nice, but final value fees are like 30 dollars and shipping is like 30, so i'd be back down to what i paid for it again, plus i'd have to ship it. selling it locally might be better.

Why are you thinking about buying a cyclocross bike?

Does your bike work? If it does, then dont sell it. It is a great bike.

Dont even think about selling it or buying anything else until you have found a job.

Also, you should get a ****ing job. Do practice interviews with someone you know, that can give you pointers. Where have you applied so far? Where do you live?

EDIT: shipping will be more than $30. Dont sell your bike.

shipping will be more like $80-100 minimum, so you'll lose money if you sell your bike. Just don't do it. It works, ride it to a job interview.
