Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Couldn't ride but......

volunteering was very cool. My girlfriend and I volunteered at the Enbridge Ride To Conquer Cancer in Toronto yesterday. I was too late to register this year so we decided to volunteer at the start, handing out the ride packets to the riders. It was a wonderful experience. The riders were fabulous and everyone was so friendly and appreciative. To have a rider thank me for volunteering just made the entire day worthwhile. There were 4600 riders and $17.5 million donated. I was so proud to even be a small part of it and getting to see so many sweet bikes was a plus. There was even a middle-aged woman riding a 1950's era cruiser. She got a lot of smiles and admiration. I can't even imagine how much fun the ride itself is. It made getting up at 3:30AM on a Saturday morning an easy thing to do. I WILL ride next year!!

Cheers,

Brian J.
