Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Ummmmmm...flip it?

Came across this ad in Austin CL for "Tall Puch roady ($250)". It took me a while to figure out what I was looking at. I've never seen bullhorn bars mounted like that...never mind the stem!

That's the air-brake position when going down steep hills.

there are some folks with very poor flexibility who still want to ride.

I would say that perhaps they should sprinkle in some yoga twice a week in addition to their cycling.

There was an older man at an organized century I did last summer on a road bike with the bars mounted so high that being in the drops was directly in front of his chest sitting straight up.

Either people actually are, or they feel inflexible and instead of working on it they try to ride sitting straight up.

Go work in a shop for awhile, you'll find people with crazy injuries that require extreme fits to be able to ride bicycles. All this blind following in cycling is why we have weekend warriors with beer bellies riding with 9" saddle to bar drops in the hoods.
