Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Performance elite bibs ?

Are the performance elite bibs a good choice ?? Is the pad the right size and thickness ?
How does the sizing run ??

I like them. I'm 5'8", 34" waist. I wear a size large. I think they are just a tad long in the thighs for me, but they fit fine. Been wearing them for about a year and they have virtually no signs of wear.

I like them too. The sizing is "normal" - i.e I have small Performance size, but medium Castello.
The pad is comfortable. I wear them for my long rides: 100 miles or so, have no problems with them.

The cost is great too if you get them on sale

That IS weird.

But anyway...I'm 6'2" (probably like abstractform20 always pictured me), hover around 200 lbs and also wear large in those bibs. I remember trying on both the XL and the L. The clincher for me was that the legs of the XL's weren't very snug around my thighs...so I went with the large...which was extremely snug but relaxed after 5 or so rides.

i really like them. I have a couple pairs of those, and a couple of the ultras. I like them both equally.

I have a pair, and like them. The pad is on the thick side. I tend to use them on centuries and long rides.

They are decent, especially when on sale.

They ain't Assos, but good value. When on sale you should be able to get them for approx 45 bucks.

I would say the Ultra II's are worth the price difference.

Thanks

They go on sale a couple of times a year for $49, and last year one sale they were $39 - that was around July.

Got two pairs of them myself and I like them a lot! So much better than just shorts IMHO! Going to buy my third one right before the Tour De Palm Springs.

I like Boure. More expensive but not as expensive as many and very good quality.

I have 2 pair. They work well for me.
Tried the Ultras and took them back the next day.
Traded down for another pair of Elite.
