Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

This from their sizing chart tab:

MEN'S VOLER SIZE CHART
Voler Team Apparel offers "European" sizing, which is smaller than U.S. sizes. When choosing Voler racewear, you should go up one size if you are unfamiliar with the smaller European sizing. Likewise, if you are between two sizes, choose the larger one.

Yes I did see that but I wanted to hear from folks who wear them. For example, I once purchased a Giordana jersey in a size XXL (normally a size XL) and it was too tight. Sometime you just can't rely on what's written.
So if anyone can comment on actually fit, muchos gracias in advance.

agree with the post above on the sizing. I never really have understood when the chart says 40in chest, and it's sized smaller, they how damn difficult would it be to say 39in chest......... just sayin..........

+1

Just lay the garment out on table, measure and post it on the web. That's it. No interpretation needed on our part. Or is that the idea...?

I wear these jerseys a lot (and the shorts too). Voler is my favorite mnfr, but Hammer sells the Voler high-end stuff for less than you pay for it at the Voler website. And I use their other products so I don't mind the branding issue.

Anyway, I would say these jerseys are on the small size. They are the Voler "race fit" cut rather than their "club" cut. So if you're looking for a something that lies very close to the skin, order your regular size, but if you want a little room, go up one.

The shorts are pretty much "normal" sized.

Normally I'll wear a medium jersey. I have the men's voler long sleeve jersey and I find that it's a tad big on me.

I would tend to agree with this, but the Voler "race fit" is still more generous than what I'd call a true race fit. The Voler small I wear is still bigger than a Descente race fit small or my team Capo small, FWIW.

This question tends to receive answers all over the map. People come in different shapes, have different expectations of fit, and different levels of honesty about their own shape. Generally, race-cut jerseys are designed to have a close fit and are tapered at the waist. If you're used to vanity sized club cut jerseys, don't have a tapered build and like them to fit like a loose T-shirt, you'll complain that race-fit jerseys are all two sizes smaller than advertised. If, however, you want the kind of fit that a race cut jersey provides, you'll find that they are true to size.

I am 5' 6" and 130 pounds and wear an XS sized Voler race cut jersey. The sleeves are a little short, but otherwise I still had to size down to get it tight and aero. I wear the S sized bibs tho.

Another comparison for Americans, for Voler race cut size down one size (at least) from Pearl Izumi.

I wear a medium in the Hammer jersey and normally wear a medium with castelli jerseys. The Hammer jersey is a bit more snug compared to the Castelli jerseys i have, especially around the arms. I actually like the fit the best compared to all my jerseys. I'm 5'11, 150 pounds if it matters.
