Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

clothing for the extremely thin

So I have a 33.5in chest and cannot seem to find anybody who makes jerseys that will be small enough to fit tight for me. Does anyone with a chest this small have any recommendations on certain brands that they have experience with?

I have the same problem. The only jerseys that fits me are the Castelli small or extra small race fit jerseys. But they are really expensive.

I actually got mine from my LBS, and from a guy on this forum.

Competitive cyclist has some: https://www.competitivecyclist.com/za...&MODE=SPECIALS
But they do not have XS, only S. S fits me but is kind of loose, I actually prefer S over XS

Wow I thought I was thin with a 36 inch chest!

Anyway your best bet is kids' jerseys, they make them.

Jerseys that don't fit quite right I have tailored. Just sew up a bit of material on each of the side panels and no one knows anything different.

A buddy of mine has your problem, and he wears youth jerseys. We tease him about it, but that guy could drop on a climb on muscle relaxers.

I am the exact opposite and have found that Hincapie make a great fitting product for both the big and the small

i am tall and skinny - 6'2" 148 34". at least as of two years ago, hincapie jerseys are awful for me. they are super baggy in the chest and arms no matter the size and i get a big fabric fold in the front. with the hincapie skinsuit, the extra small is still baggy in the arms, and is way too short so i am dislocating my shoulders to try to get the thing to pull over.

i think my best fitting jersey is a pearl izumi p.r.o. leader size small that someone gave me.

Pactimo makes a race cut jersey, but they are limited to the custom or designer series jerseys and are a bit more expensive, but worth it email them and they will help you out.

I have a 33in chest and have similar problems. There are a few Euro brands that make very small jerseys but they tend to be a bit short at least at my height (5'8.5"). Maybe have a look at Mavic, Santini...

Currently I'm wearing my club's stuff which is size '0' or '40' Euro (XXXS British apparently!) from an Italian maker. I also have one custom jersey with a 30" chest for a very tight race fit and an extra long cut for my height.

For bibs I wear Santini XS which I get from here. They also sell various jerseys that might work for you.

Mavic is all over the place in fit and expensive to experiment with size. I have had maybe a dozen mavic jerseys and found only one model that fit me tight so I bought three of them. Even their high end jerseys are big in the waist. I think Mavic caters to an average to bigger body type in most cases. I also have very good luck with castelli jerseys and capo isn't bad either.

Possibly true - I've only tried one Mavic jersey. I think it was an Espoir and in XS it fit ok though it was fairly short. I would have kept it but in white it was virtually transparent! Bad move.

Sugoi RS/RSE jersey's in Small would fit you like a glove width wise, however, they are reasonably short. They have some on sale on Amazon.com at the moment.

Other choices- Craft in XS (race fit/aero fit stuff), and Sportful in XS. Sportful makes pretty good gear, but may be hard to find in those sizes.

Anything advertised as "European race fit" would be a good start.

Not that everyone doesn't already know the obvious, but remember a lot of higher end jerseys will be short when you are standing because they are cut for riding/racing.
