Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

app for cycling - HTC Arrive - uses Windows 7

I'm hoping I didn't just buy a phone that is worthless regarding apps related to cycling.

Just got an HTC Arrive phone (hasn't arrived yet). Looking at apps like 'sportypal', it doesn't look like it supports this phone :-(

I don't want to open the package yet if I can send it back and get a different phone that will work with apps like sportypal. You'd think it would, since it's the right OS...

Anyone know how that tech works? Would the phone be able to run sportypal?

Just searching around on sportypals forum, looks like Win 7 isn't supported. What the heck!!! Anyone know of any other apps that would work with Windows 7 mobile? This sucks!

My last three phones have been Android-based, and I use the Velox cycling app (never had a real bike computer). Check that out.

Once you have the phone it will probably be easier to actually browse the market on the phone to see what you can get.

Windows Phone has made some great strides, but niche app support has been slow coming. Nokia is about to launch their Lumia models supposedly with a ton of marketing (they have been selling well in Europe), so that may inspire more adoption and more app support.
