Which bike should I buy?
I am looking at buying one of these. The Cannondale has an aluminum frame but better components (Ultegra, better crank). The Scott is an all carbon frame with 105 & better wheels. I love the look of the Cannondale. The Scott looks OK. The CAAD10 aluminum is supposed to be comparable to carbon on bikes in this class. What would you do?

Aluminum is harsher riding than carbon.
Have owned/ridden steel alloys, alu, Ti, bamboo and carbon fiber.
Our butts are on c/f.
Which do you prefer?

a crackpipe.
But realy. If you get a caad. You'll eventually want to upgrade to carbon, and you'll want better wheels at some point. Go with the Scott imo

Ugh. I like the CAAD10 better... mostly because I like the look. I'm just not pumped about the Scott. Should I wait for next year's models?

What kind of geometry are you looking for? The Caad has a shorter head tube meant for a more race oriented set up.

Have you looked at the Specialized Allez?
I would go for the CAAD btw those two you have listed but really either will be good

Will I be disappointed with the aluminum frame? They really didn't feel different on the test rides. That's the only thing that is making me nervous. I hate buying & immediately wanting an upgrade, but the CAAD10 didn't feel any different than the carbon frames I've ridden.

I'd photoshop a picture of myself in my full riding kit and sunglasses next to each of the stock photos of the Scott and the Cannondale. Whichever photo looked coolest would be the one I'd buy. Oh, and in my size too. Duh.

If you like the CAAD, but would swap out the stem for a more comfort-oriented ride, why not look at the Synapse? Available in both aluminum and carbon.

You will not be disappointed with the CAAD10 frame. Mine is fit more for comfort, I have no problem riding it on 70, 80+ rides. Seriously, I have the most fun riding my CAAD...more so than my 3 CF bikes.
