Wheelbuilder in the Northern NJ / NYC area ..
I need some opinions on good wheelbuilders around the North Jersey or NYC area.
I found some postings, but some were outdated (shops closed) from 2007, etc.
I haven't been on the forums in a while and hope maybe someones got a better tip on any current builder greats.
I'm not familiar with any aspects of wheelbuilding, but I do have a pair of carbon rims and hubs. Are they slightly different in terms of build process? For those of you who know of these builders, are they familiar with carbon? Does it matter?
Thanks!

So I got my wheels built by the head mechanic at Toga in the UWS, but if I were to do it again (which I might have to very soon with a carbon wheel I need rebuilt) I will try Mark Purdy at https://ifixbyx.com/site/ I realized Toga did not do the best job after I posted my results on in the mechanic forum here....
Mark at ifixbyx is apparently very well regarded and works with many racers in the area. He charges $80 for a carbon wheel build.
You might also want to first talk to Tom Reingold who is on this forum (username noglider) and I was in talks with about building my wheels. We never worked together but he seemed like a stand up guy who knew his stuff. Give him a shout.

Sync, thanks for the tip. $80 sounds a bit steep for a single wheel build so I tried contacting noglider and hopefully will get a response soon.

Steel80's
Mike Johnson, Wheelfine Imports, Lambertville, NJ. west central NJ, not North, but wheels are his thing and he's got a lot of high-end stuff.
