I'm always jealous they get more snow than us nowadays. It just doesn't feel like MN without drifts at the end of every driveway as tall as the house behind it.

You can have our snow.

Shockingly I feel quite coherent still. 3 hours to go so that can degrade quite fast.

This was the 4th or 5th that I've said to myself, "oh yeah, it's NYE." I guess if it were important to me, I wouldn't keep forgetting. As it is, I have a small child and I'm coming off an illness that still has me in no mood to drink or be sociable.

I don't bother all that much, I got miles planned for tomorrow.

It isn't so much who makes them but to what specs. Just you try using a last gen DA anything with anything. SRAM is kinda halfway in that regard and Campy......well Campy couldn't care less what anyone is doing as long as they are far removed.

perhaps, but 5600 and 6600 arent last gen d/a either. the 6600 thats on it now works perfectly. And to add fuel to this fire I am using a sram power link on the Shimano chain!

6700 and 7900 are directional, so yeah they are out.

I forgot, if I don't get back in time, have a great New Year. Plenty of miles under the wheels for everyone, and lotsa fun doing it.

Could be, I only heard about Sram.

Shimano chains are shimano chains, they have the facilities to make all their stuff.

I dont doubt it. however the last batch of 5600 chains I bought sucked like nothing that has ever sucked before. I had 3 of them. they all died at around the 1000 mile mark. this last one gets one more try tomorrow.

The offical tally is 33.7 inches so far this season. About 7 inches below average.

Amazing the amount of things we agree on. I was out riding and stopped at a gas station a few days ago in below zero windchill and had some ice cream. Melting a cone all over yourself in Summer heat is just stupid.

I'm generally a homebody on NYE.
