Yup. I also hear the term "coconut." I was born in the Philippines, but grew up here since I was 6. Am 42 now.

Here's pic of me from this past summer. Please disregard the goofiness. We were doing 50 on a 100 degree day. I was nicely roasted.

The Cadillac jersey and the Litespeed raise the Fredly Bar. Well done.

I'm sure you could drop me in my present state by the way, so you can take solace in that.

Wrong ring. Tuscany? The Tuscany was a sweet bike. One of my favorites.

Yup yup. It's an '05, and what I feel was the best year for the Tuscany. Lots of worked tubing. It had the massive bladed down tube, compressed head tube (aero?) and the top tube was clover shaped, which was odd in that the clover was Lynskey's crest but the Lynskey family wasn't in the picture for well over 5 years at the time.

The geometry is classic Lynskey though, down to the curved stays. Maybe some of the craftsmen built it from old sketches as homage to the prior ownership? <shrugs> Obviously, the new Lynskey then opened their doors in 2006, and the rest is history.

Interestingly enough, my new R230 has IDENTICAL geometry figures (hey, it does fit me perfectly) albeit with a compact frame layout. Where they differ is in the tubing size and shape. Most importantly the R230's down tube is bi-ovalized and should prove stiffer in the BB (not that I can sense any flex in the Tuscany - I only weigh 155). The R230 retains the Lynskey signature of the curved stays too. The R230 will be relegated to club hammerfests, whereas the Tuscany will be assigned to metric and century duty.

My 3000 annual miles vs your 7000? I doubt it. Even on your low pain threshold days, it may still be a toss up.

I can assure you that there will be no velo conversation clogging up the Meet & Greet banter that evening. It will be all about guitar weenies star struck by their Guitar Hero. As well it should be.

ls01 12-07-12 11:56 PM

So how did this meeting come about? mutual friends? bandmates?

PBS was doing a fund drive, they offered two tix to see him with the meet and greet for $300 for the Thursday Beacon show in May. I already had tix for the Saturday night show, but I can't go, I have a wedding to attend, so I'll sell those. That's really about what I had paid for the original tickets through Stub Hub anyway. That ship had sailed, can't use those original tix anyway, hopefully they bring back $200+ on ebay or Stub Hub.

Hey, I go to like two or three shows a year. Worth paying a little more to make it memorable. Paid a high price for a VIP package to see Coldplay last August, it was one of the best friggin shows I ever saw. I was in the 9th row.

Plus it benefits PBS, which is like Big Bird flipping Mitt the Big Bird if you know what I'm saying, and I know that you do.

My bike is filthy. I'm not posting pictures of it here. Although one of my road bikes is ti and on the others hand-built steel.

My whole bike has a patina of filth. Since it's in for the winter, It'll get better than a quick wipe down.

ls01 12-08-12 06:19 AM
