Lazy bastids.

Not being able to drive stick was a good way to get out of details in Afghanistan with the Toyota hi-lux pickup we used around camp.

I think this can often be attributed to deraillers that don't work anymore and said female just wants to get from A to B, no intention of doing anything remotely like maintenance.

I've driven a few cars that either let you lock the CVT in ratios of your choice or electronically control gear changes. You don't get the same road feel, you don't get to operate the clutch, and the systems won't let you do something outright stupid like shift to 6th at 25mph or 2nd at 60mph, but it basically works.

Not sure why the manual is going the way of crank windows -- which I also prefer to electric because control is better and you don't need the keys to operate them.

Don't know why, but most cyclists I see riding this way are women IME.

Another situation is that this is someone doing force intervals - high resistance/low cadence.

Many decades ago, on a three-lane each direction congested road where I was lane-splitting between the right lane and the center lane, a motorist did this right in front of me. I stopped, picked it up (still lit) and dropped it onto his lap. I didn't stick around for his response and there was no way any motorist could catch up to a bike in that environment.

And in another realm, it's called single-speed. ;)

Smokers in general seem to think cigarette butts and empty boxes seem to disintegrate as soon as they leave the hand - even if the person doesn't usually litter.

I own both. SRAM components are my favorite road groupsets by far. Avid just came with my MTB, can't really complain about them though
