So, in NYC I just wore thermal tights over my regular bibs, and that did the job. Today (temps in the mid/high teens), the coldest part of my body was where bib spandex touched my skin. Not comfy. Do I really need to shell out for thermal bibs?

Am I the only one that thinks it odd that a person goes out with a gal, has sex the first night, doesn't want to date yet because she does not know him well enough? WTF?

There was drinking involved. Makes perfect sense to me.

Just finished 2 hours of intervals on the trainer. Actually enjoyed it with the tunes. I'm backing off on winter cycling a bit. Had a spill on an ice patch ( the dreaded (black ice), fortunately I landed on my left hip. The artificial one is the other side but it got me thinking of the world of hurt I would be in if I landed on the right side.

Guess I'm old fashioned. Always thought the dating came first.

These days, I think that fellatio on a first = old fashioned. I could be wrong.

I've moved in with girls on first dates.

Thank you everyone. I've been a physician for 18 years and dealt with all kinds of tragedy. My wife and I were having real serious problems with our marriage. But I just can't wrap my head around this. Suicide just makes absolutely no sense. This is truly horrifying. How do you tell children about this? My nieces and nephews are just baffled by this (as are all of the adults I guess). I don't think I will ever understand. Thank the maker for friends, family, and psychologists. A community really shows its mettle in these situations.

I cry a lot. Both out of sadness, and out of love. People from all over the country have shown me so much love that it hurts. There are so many good people in this world

Thanks.

I just finished a rather remarkable novel which deals with many topics, among them suicide, called "Infinite Jest" by David Henry Wallace. He describes with such power, the motives for suicide, which he unfortunately succumbed to. The thing that struck me so hard was the description of depression leading to suicide, the perception of an overwhelming sense that there simply was no other option.
It is my worst fear , that a loved one, a child or my wife ( who battles depression ) might succumb to this permanent solution to what those around see as a temporary problem.
Again my heart felt condolences.

I have that book on my shelf surgeonstone. I think it will need to stay there a while.

And I guess that's kinda where my confusion comes from. I'd have expected desire for sex would have indicated enough interest for desire to date. Makes my head hurt trying to understand.

The basic concept of a date has become mysterious to me.

Meanwhile, I have this for entertainment.

Women sometimes just need some ass, too.

Is Pcad less funny, or have you just lost your sense of humor?

Thanks for the flicker info/post Why-Fi. I plan on starting a new thread in a couple of weeks when I get my new bike and wanted to be able to post a pic correctly.

It's actually David Foster Wallace.

I never actually was able to finish the whole thing. Great writer though, I was sad when he killed himself.

Sure, but then why want me to stay even longer if that's all it was?

Whoa...you can say fellatio but not the female alternative to kitty? How odd.

It is a tough book, painfully real and beyond brilliant in prose.
