Short because coffee and enchiladas kept distracting me. A little bit of snow and ice was to be had as well...

LesterOfPuppets 01-02-13 10:17 AM

After seeing it in the $10k bike thread I might have to make this my new plastic lottery bike. If only they could conceal that battery...

Hey Datlas, the 40-50% decrease in RVUs for EMG/NCS went into effect today. No new bike schwag for me this year.

My wife just sent me this pic. I really wish I could disagree with it.

Do they have pho in WV? You need a big ol' bowl of it.

Yep, about 25 minutes away. Unfortunately I don't feel like going there. I absolutely love pho when I'm sick.

Less adjustment with a hydraulic system. Sorta like how the brake calipers "automatically" adjust to pad linings wearing down.

Not really it takes like 5secs to adjust a clutch cable. It's recommended to change clutch fluid once a year, and it takes a lot more time to bleed the system.

Not that anyone ever changes their clutch fluid. That's why master cylinders blow seals.

Is that a Honda recommendation? IMO Once per year is nuts. I change mine about every 4 years, with the brake fluid.

Well done.

Happy New Year, Velo Vol.

Gravity bleeding any system is a walk in the park. Not difficult, and whilst it's happening, there are other tasks that can be performed on the vehicle. As hygroscopic as brake fluid is, it doesn't hurt to change it fairly often.

Bummer. At least the 27% medicare cut was put on hold.

datlas 01-02-13 12:19 PM

Good ride with the club today. Only five riders. Starting temp was about 27F...but by the end it had warmed up to about 31. We ended up just a hair under 50 miles.

Just talked to my Dad, he sounds like crap. His room is right across from the nurses station so he isn't getting any sleep. :(

That's perfect riding weather, IMO. I'm loving this cold snap keeping things sub-freezing here in Vancouver. Any day now we'll be back to 36° and raining all day.

It was good. There were a few icy spots on some of the back roads, but otherwise it was perfectly fine.
