What a surprise Siu Blue Wind, a mod doing a little egging on are we ? You should ban yourself. Everytime you come to this thread it's to stir the pot. Very unbecoming of a mod. Don't you think?

Oh my. That hurt. LOL!!

Yeah me telling Pcad that I'm sorry about Sam was stirring the pot....

I didn't see where I told her to continue on. But somewhere you saw it. The accusations fly...I think you should report it, actually. Bad person I am. For shame.

I wear the new off of stuff pretty quickly.

Nice.

I suck hard enough, I can't play people even worse than me. Good grief.

It's coming around. My playing is improving, I'm finding my voice. I'm enjoying the playing and the song writing, and the performing in front of rooms is getting less nerve wracking. I'll keep putting myself out there @ the open mics and sooner or later the right band situation will come together. It's hard, but almost easier to start your own band. The last band rehearsal I played at they thought they were God's Gift to Rock/Blues. They were not.

The difference between myself and many other musicians on this local level is I really have zero point zero delusions of musical grandeur. If anything, I tend to be overly self-critical. If you want to play music in front of people it's often better to think you are better than you really are than vice versa.

Was this her?

Desperation makes people do desperate things.

But you've still got more musical talent in your little fingernail that I've got all over.

BillyD 01-12-13 07:02 PM

What a heavyweight bout in Denver! Woohoo!

Yeah, well I can sing my way out of a paper bag. A thin paper bag, but still. I ask this woman if she played an instrument. She tells me her voice 'is my instrument'. I didn't tell her what I was thinking.

You can tune an instrument.

Razor lives in Breckinridge? I thought possibly the springs and he was RTDub

I like the game well enough. It's the people who live in a place where you turn into a human icicle that I question.

I know very little about singing. I've never even been in a (adult) choir. But how is it possible to physically change (or "find") your voice?

Sounds like a late mid-life crisis in progress.

Razor used to catch a lot of crap for making things up about his rides and riding so he could feel better about himself on the interweb. Jen often led the charge.

Irony.

Other side of the Divide. I don't go over that unless I'm in a jet.

It's about finding the kind of music you want to play and figuring out how to get the sound in your head to come out of the PA system. It's about developing a song writing style and repertoire. It's about learning how to play the guitar.

It's fun trying.

I pick up a guitar now and start noodling around and I keep coming up with song writing ideas. I've never had that experience before, and I've been playing the guitar for a long time. Starting to get a little confidence and self assurance. And I think I'm starting to figure out what to do to improve.

I'll just keep playing and see what happens. While I like putting my stuff out there to hear the feedback, on another level I'm increasingly less concerned about what the world thinks. As long as I know where I'm trying to go, then maybe I'll get there.

Ignore the 41 Think Tank at your own peril.

Yes, brought lights since we knew we would be going through it.
