Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

This looks like a thread that's doomed from the start.

I'd probably be pretty winded if I had to climb three flights of stairs right now. This is an exciting improvement for me.

datlas is feeling slightly persnickity this morning....I was hoping to do my club's New Year's ride, but the Mrs. has decided that we must go visit her family in NJ...so I got up early and did a 10ish mile run. Running is such foolishness compared to cycling...

One nice thing about Strava is that it works for both cycling and running...they need to get a swim version and I will be set.

I know how you feel. My pool table is upstairs. I am tired when I get there. Although each day gets better

It's -5°. No, not including wind chill. Maybe this is a good time to take a trip to more southerly climes.

But waiting on a wife and toddler makes getting out the door an exercise in patience.

36ºF here. But leaden skies and flurries. Still, no wind. When it's cold here in January in the AM it's 5-15ºF, so I'll take it.

It's colder than that here, oddly. Getting ready for the NYD ride in the local mountains.

Haven't been keeping up, how's the taint issue? Back to normal riding?
