Training for a 3K should not be that hard, I bet Benson could do it.

Maybe it's like Downton Abbey in outer space.

I was thinking about this song writer seminar I attended and in retrospect, what really struck me about the other amateur songs was how bad the lyrics were. I mean, the music was bad enough, but the lyrics were just friggin brutal. I never realized before how bad lyrics can even kill a pretty decent song.

I am a bottomless pit of prosaic bull****, so lyrics are not a problem for me.

I love both, so maybe. Ok not really.

I've watched pretty much every Jane Austen adaptation Masterpiece has done. Had a long string of seeking out Victorian era dramas and if you love Downton, there's an older mini-series called "North & South" (not the civil war drama of the same name) that the actor playing Bates is in. Also features the dreamy Richard Armitage (plays Thorin in the Hobbit) as the lead. The book is really pretty good too.

Also loved Firefly, BSG, and the Stargate Series (Atlantis, specifically). I watch Castle just because Nathan Fillion is on it and other Firefly actors have made cameos. Damn shame Firefly and SG:A were cancelled.

I think BSG was best in S1 & 2. S3 & 4 lose me a little bit. I've actually been re-watching it over the past couple weeks as well.

OK, maybe I'll give BSG a shot.

God help me.

It's for sure more soap-opera/drama and less campy than the series in the 70/80s.

You would love to visit Bath. It's like nothing has changed since her day. Except for the hoards of tourists.

I wouldn't need to train for the 3k. ;)

Why did I not get the memo that cigars are ok in Starbucks?

Soap opera is a serious mischaracterization. It is a serial drama and camp-factor is zero. Star Wars looks campy now.

coasting 02-21-13 10:16 AM

why would someone avoid gluten if not allergic?

coasting 02-21-13 10:17 AM

I used to laugh at all the kids with allergies. Now it seems I have been allergic without knowing it.

Especially since that was likely in LA. If they had even reached for a lighter, they would face public execution.

Nothing beats a limey soap opera about rich dickheads.

Have you seen "Dr. Horrible's Sing along Blog"? It was a gem that came out of the Writer's Strike years ago.

To say the original Star Wars looks campy is to totally disregard the era in which it was made. For the late 70's, that film was astonishing, compared to the other crap at the time.

The speciality of the BBC.

What I love most about costume dramas is the big bosoms.
