I came here to track down WhyFi. Does he even visit this fine source of misinformation anymore?

If you are out there, pre-reg for that silly ride you said you were doing ends this month. I may volunteer for it if you aren't interested in getting flogged up hills on the longer route. Or just wanted to do it with your friend(s) you mentioned were making you do it.

If you are really indisposed and feel like suffering you are welcome to join me for a century this weekend for that Power Trip contest. I have yet to find any hangers-on during Frost Bike that would consider such a venture.

We're trying a gluten-free diet for my husband (trying all things to deal with what we think is MS). He has never had GI-type issues and isn't noticing any difference after nearly two weeks. I'm researching gluten tolerance issues now.

I don't have an intolerance, I'm doing it for weight loss.

IIRC, it takes about two weeks of being gluten free to notice improvement if you do have an intolerance.

Thanks. I've read around two weeks, too. He's going to break the gluten-free experiment with pizza and beer after a couple weeks and we'll talk to the neurologist when that referral goes through.

He is still here. Others have come and gone.

I wish I could ride today, but stupid job is getting in the way. I went for a quick 5 mile run instead.

Running is still stupid. But at least it's compact/dense. And I am dense for doing it.

I was watching "Hoarders" on TV last night... there was a guy who hoards bicycles and musical instruments (mainly guitars and amps) who writes music, plays guitar and sings at local bars.

I didn't know PCad lives with his 93 year old mother in her house.

Doesn't really surprise you though does it?

That would answer a lot of questions . . . .

like why he's been so cranky lately, for starters.

truckstop, I finally got to the end of season 3 on BSG. What a great frackin' show. Limiting myself to an episode a day, if that, to fully enjoy the final season. I watched season 2 in one weekend and I had dreams about it that Sunday night.

Seriously, with the volume of actual story in this series, it makes the Star Wars fairy tale look like a romance novel. And this from a guy who has a framed original Star Wars movie poster in his den, from before it was re-titled A New Hope. Maybe I'm the only one who didn't catch it when it was on TV (didn't get the channel), but if any of you haven't seen it, even if you don't like Sci-Fi, it is that good.

My Mom is only 78, and while we love each other dearly we both agree that if we lived with each other it would become a murder/suicide scenario within 6 months.

What up MM - the ride is at the end of April (28th). I want to ride, regardless, but I haven't registered yet. Friend hasn't registered yet - I think that he's going to do day-of so he can skip out in the event it's cold (30s/40s) and rainy like the last time he rode it (two years ago, I think). I kinda feel obligated ride with him if he does go, though.

No can do this weekend, though I don't think that you'd have much fun waiting around for me, at this point, even if schedule allowed. I appreciate it, though, and still intend to take you up on dragging me up and down whatever hills (Afton?) you had mentioned previously.

I'll have to check it out, but I'm still broken up about Firefly. :(

patentcad 02-21-13 07:56 AM

My Soundcloud page is approaching 2000 plays. That's for all the songs. At this rate, I'll make a career of this in 850 years. Oh wait, Soundcloud pays no royalties.

Carry on.

Yeah, that was also a great show, and while I liked it as well Serenity, BSG will blow you away. I watched the original BSG, and while it was campy, it was entertaining. This is another level of not only effects, but of writing, and the acting never went stale.

Speaking of stupidity; I just registered for a run. :o

Battlestar Galactica, old man.

BillyD 02-21-13 08:29 AM

I WISH I could run

but those days are done

I've had my time in the sun.

Hey pcad, feel free to use those lyrics at will. Just give me my cut if they go 'ka-ching'!

rjones28 02-21-13 08:34 AM

Yeah, I can't run either. At least not according to my 20-year-old self.
