American Pie was the last song before closing time at many of the bars in Fells Point that I frequented in my 20's. We used to belt that thing out in perfect harmony.
At least we thought so. |

I'm not allowed to stay there. Maybe when Pcad establishes a winter residence there he'll let me sleep on the couch.

Maybe Nashville can't handle Velo Vol Style.

Odd. Do people from Knoxville and Nashville not mix well?

I think Pope Pcad I would be a fitting addition to this list.

Nicely done, Herbie. A shame your attitude tanked, as I think you are plenty strong at this juncture to contest.
Did you see any Rapha-clad cyclists out there? |

singing american pie, not knowing the words very well, only really knowing the chorus by memory, being not a very good singer, dodgy translation on the screen...singing solo. what could go wrong?
I wish I had just bared my buttocks; it would have been less embarrassing. |

I did, up in Cockeysville and then Sparks, but worked in Canton. Friends of ours had a bar in Canton (Boston Street Cafe) that was our base of operations. It was fun times, but in hindsight was the beginning of what lead me to need to ride... and ride lots.

So goes it in Addiction. I used to do the cat 4 races around lake Monetebello back then. Would also ride up falls road from the city all the way well past the MD/PA state line. Back then there was a pretty good road scene in Balto, not sure how it is nowadays. |

Yeah, I suspect I will get some grief from my coach for that. The effort being for naught in the 4s and knowing there were a number of 1/2 types in the 40+ field did it. Looking at the data after, I learned I can double up for two short crits and put decent efforts in for both.
I did see VL or is it LV (Louis Vuitton). As with many interweb personas he actually seems much more normal in the real world. We may ride this afternoon if it stops raining. Normal is subjective, but in his case, not as surprising. |

yup. Back at work today. It is weird. Luckily my office manager made my schedule a little gappy expecting me to be a little distracted. She was right. Each day is better than the last. Exercise helps. Especially the weight room. Leg press kicks butt for stress relief. Cycling is tough since I'm so distracted, so I've been running/swimming and lifting. I did ride yesterday though.
Glad you are doing ok. |

Good deal RUOkie. In this case, time is your friend.
Distractions on the bike are decent at times, but looking at flowers and chasing butterflies during a hammerfest only gets one shelled off the back. Sometimes chasing butterflies is more important. |

Distractions on the bike can lead you to be hit by a 1/2 ton pickup. |
RU, didn't you get the Felt Breed, or was that someone else? I have found the single speed to be a fabulous "I'm distracted and just want to enjoy myself" bike. I am usually reluctant to pick it out of the stable, or quiver (cross-thread head nod to Stoney), but I find that once I am on it, it is enjoyable to just ride a bike, and not optimize every gear shift and hill climb attack.
If it wasn't you with the Breed, then go get one, dammit. BF orders. |

you are correct, and that is what I was riding yesterday for 2 hours. When my mind would wander, I'd head off into a field. :thumb:
