Relatively heavy, I'm not normally a fan of polished components, but it's such a pretty bike. It's exactly what I'd want for riding around town and to coffeeshops, if I did that, and wanted a $2600 bike for that task.

I drool on that bike every time I go to Western Bike Works, where they have it for $2300. I keep hoping for further markdowns but it'd take a LOT of marking down before it entered my price range.

It is going to be very difficult to get through the next few days but the one I am really concerned about is my mom. She has not been "alone" in over 40 years. Their 40th anniversary is this May.

That's tough. I feel for you. Hope you can stay strong for your mum.

Why do bereavements come in 3s? In our little BF world, we've had 3 announced in the last couple of weeks. In my real world, I've been notified of 3 in last couple of weeks. Sadness is like buses; you wait for ages and then 3 come at once.

Is this you, coasting?

Hey coasting,

Do you still pay taxes that support the BBC? I was freeloading a bit earlier. Man, that's vastly different than any radio one can listen to here. Not sure about the drama skits and the women's hour, though.

I wish I could watch the TV, especially the news programmes. U.S. TV news can be mind-numbingly dumb.

Oh, and for truckstop and others who were advising me to forget rules about when to call and just go for it with the right girl: with the one I went out with last Friday, we've been on the phone an hour or two every day since. Can't wait for tomorrow.

When it comes to matters of the heart, there are no rules. Do what feels right to you, and no matter what the outcome, you'll have no regrets.

Good club ride today. We had 9 riders and did 50 miles. Temps were right around freezing to start, by end it had warmed up to near 40.

Time to eat a bowl of oatmeal and go for a run. Swim tonight.

This tri thing is a lot of work.

Probably the most asinine thing I have yet read on BF and a philosophy which will lead to only emptiness. No rules! Are you nuts. If it feels good do it. Guaranteed recipe for disaster. And yes, you will have regrets if this advice is followed.

Unpossible.

That said, I'd be much more likely to find happiness if I followed the opposite of what my heart told me.

My condolences, LC.

A... so Surgeonstone follows SA's plan of "do what doesn't feel good". Glad that's working out for you.

TampaRaleigh 02-13-13 01:06 PM

My point was, if you do what "feels right", you'll never say to yourself: "I wish I had told her/him how I felt before she left/died/etc." And you'll also never say: "I should have left when I saw this trainwreck coming, instead I hung around."

There is at least one rule - that sadly I must paraphrase lest the Mod Mafia swat me again:

"Do not consumate congress with crazy"

Back from my run. It's amazing how a 50 mile bike ride will slow down your run a bit. I was almost 1 minute/mile slower than usual.
