Meh, just some big parade or party or something in New Orleans.

datlas 02-03-13 03:47 PM

I just came back from a short spin on the rollers in the basement.

I gave up after 30 minutes.

My hats of to those who can put in over 1 hour, I die of boredom and crap out somewhere between 30 and 40 minutes.

No early retirement?? That's what I am aiming for. Not going to happen, of course, but it's my pipe dream.

Actually, what I really want is to find a job that's 6 hours/week, 3 days/week, no pager, no call, no nights, and no weekends. That would be ideal. Also not going to happen.

That's what I was going to recommend. See, you're not so bad at this. Good luck.

Thanks. No response yet though. Ugh. "Not so bad" will sound better when I actually get a response...

Thanks for the vote of confidence but I am really bad. I can maintain 20MPH on the flats, run 8 minute miles for an hour, but my swim sucks. Today's 1500m took me 39:10. Compared to my bike and run abilities (which I would say are middle-of-pack), my swim is weak.

Compare yourself, in suitable age group, to this:

Seriously, that's not terrible by tri standards.

Maybe not terrible, but towards back of pack for the swim. I am 47 years old, male. Again, I do well on the bike and ok on the run, but the swim needs work.

Luckily the first tri of the season is not until May, and I am committed to meeting with a coach and going to the pool 3-4x/week so I am hoping to make some real improvement in my swim time. I will continue bike 3x/week and run 3-4x/week so I figure those can only improve a smidge too.

Sure. However, you wouldn't be embarrassed or out of place. And you have a few months, and working on form can help immensely. So, no need to go be a duathlete.

Yeah, I know I won't be missing the cutoff time for the swim. Stay tuned, I am hoping to get my time down to about 2:00/100m by tri season.

Only if they let me lip sync like Beyonce.

patentcad 02-03-13 06:12 PM

By far the baddest ass half time show ever was Prince in the rain a few years back. Holy cripes that dude is a smokin performer.

Out for dinner at a nearly empty restaurant and back in time for the half time commercials.

Perfect.

I seriously doubt there is a drum kit on the planet remotely as loud as a Shiva 80 watt head. It's hard to trump A/C assisted amplified sound.

Gets any darker in the Superdome, Ray Lewis may stab somebody...

rjones28 02-03-13 08:26 PM

We watched The Dead Pool tonight, Mrs. rjones28 wanted to watch something with a car chase. The chase through SF with with R/C Vette is one of my favorites.
