Yep Rowan. Shepherds hook which usually holds plants in the summer.

Shiny alien eyes and tentacles. Best way to be safe is to be scary.

Good point, RollCNY.

So sorry. You're in our thoughts.

Mrs. rjones28 wants a banjo. She has the musical instrument version of n+1.

Last week, it was 76 in commutes, 80 on Sat, with the Worlds mixed in, and Sunday was 40. Our weather has been exceptional, so it has allowed big days over the weekend. I will commute in single digits, as well. Weather doesn't bug me, but ice does.

If only you recognized a popular mid-February holiday in which significant others give each other gifts . . .

Picky. With all the hubbub here about owning multiple bikes, one would think you'd have an ice bike.

LAJ 02-13-13 07:02 AM

It's bad enough I have a bike with fenders.

Do mobile phones have a hidden internal timer that causes them to fail when the contract is up for renewal? My contract ended 2/10... last night a dark patch 1cm x 3cm appeared on my screen. it's growing and darkening. :twitchy:

Thank you all very much. My dad passed last night at 9:13 while holding my hand. It was very peaceful and he was completely pain free. He was truely an amazing man.

It is going to be very difficult to get through the next few days but the one I am really concerned about is my mom. She has not been "alone" in over 40 years. Their 40th anniversary is this May.

My thoughts are with you. Sending positive thoughts your way that you have strength to be there for your mom now.

I'm very happy it was peaceful and painless, and that you were there with him. I'm sure it meant the world.

In less-serious news, I find myself seriously lusting for the F4130:

Relatively heavy, I'm not normally a fan of polished components, but it's such a pretty bike. It's exactly what I'd want for riding around town and to coffeeshops, if I did that, and wanted a $2600 bike for that task.

I'm sorry to hear that. I was hoping he'd bounce back.

My last remaining grandparent passed 2 days ago. I'd say "suddenly" but it was apparent to me during the last (hm. Literally the last) xmas phone call that she was not long for the world.

Death sucks.

I'm sorry about your dad, but it is a blessing that he wasn't in pain and was with family.

I feel your pain, Cellie. Lost my dad 11 years ago this month to Parkinson's. My thoughts are with you and your family.

LesterOfPuppets 02-13-13 09:18 AM

RIP papa LoCel. I'd be worried abouy you Mom, too. I hope she can find a way to adjust to the completely new stage of life she's about to enter.

WHOOOSSHHH... 02-13-13 09:25 AM

Your dad was always there for you and in the end when it counted the most, you were there for him... God bless

We don't need an arbitrary date on the calendar for that.

mvnsnd 02-13-13 09:28 AM

LowCel, sorry for your loss, but glad that it was peaceful and pain free.

My condolences.

I'm sure your mother will have the help she needs in the days ahead, with you there..
