No, coz you've been on the can all day looking at stick books. :D

Pray tell, good Sir ed. How fast were you, how many races did you win, and why is it that you are such an authority on all matters cycling?

Oh, so your a young kipper then ed? Either that or a very late bloomer.

In my racing days there were no Tour highlights on TV. Just snippets about Phil Anderson on the ABC radio news.

Child of 1973, hence the username. I love Phil....sold him an MTB when I worked at The Freedom Machine.

Looks more like a number plate. :)

1965 here. Greys are emerging, darks are receding

531Aussie 12-02-04 10:37 PM

(sorry Ed).......

Ed also did a year or two racing the kermeseseses in Holland

Brian 12-02-04 10:51 PM

You guys are boring today. I hope at least one of you gave 53-11 a hard time though.

Rowan 12-02-04 10:53 PM

Nah, I tried to get rocky to go over and invite 53-11 to join you as an ornery Aussie, but he told he to get fukkked and do my own dirty work. Cheeky baaastard.

Rowan 12-02-04 10:56 PM

We've also been giving teh New Yorkers a bit of a hard time. But we've kissed and made up (they kissed our @rse), and I threatened we'd torment their NY Thread from time to time to remind them what fun is. Then one of them tried to sool the gang on to me for mentioned the F word. Geez.

Brian 12-02-04 10:58 PM

He's the biggest blowhard, big headed moron I've come across on here. He is apparently the fastest, strongest rider around, but he only does it for fun, that's why he's never won any races. <COUGH bull***** COUGH>

We went to NY earlier this year - every gift shop sells t-shirts that say in huge letters,
F**K YOU
YOU F**KING
F**K.

And they don't have asterisks, if you know what I mean. My wife loves to hear me say that with my New York accent.

Ah well, I suppose when you've run out of imagination, and your leadership stinks, and a terrorist has blasted your icons from the skyline, there's really nothing else you can say.

Leads me on to that old joke about what the Mayor of Hiroshima said when the A-bomb went off.
What the....

Brian 12-02-04 11:11 PM

I don't see it that way. New Yorkers have always had that attitude. It's nothing new. I love the place, much better than Sydney. Less crime, and you don't feel as threatened. But the natives do have a cetain attitude. Gotta run, there's a delivery truck out front.

Yeah, he was going on about all sorts of crap, and I just wanted to say "get a room and go f**k yourself already" he's that in love with himself.

Thylacine 12-03-04 02:44 AM

Of course NY is better than Sydney. That's simply because it's not Melbourne! :D

<Scratch head and wonder> How many of the "people on the other side of the Pacific" (I was going to say seppo, but I'm not sure Expat has grasped the true meaning of the word) have thought the same thing about us -- individually or collectively.

So Tiger, who isn't really Tasmanian but obviously wishes he could be, and is a frame-builder extraordinaire, has decided to grace us with his company...

.... after slumming it around a few other forums, I notice.

Have we offended one of our own?

I've got the full meaning, don't worry. My wife said "Nah, it's not because septic tank rhymes with Yank, it's because they think Americans are full of *****". And to think Americans love Australia so much. You gave us 2 great documentaries - that one about driving, and one about crocs... We don't hold a grudge about Jacko either.
