That's OK ed, I'll keep yuo company for a while.

Can't rely on your old mates like Hitchy... never around when you need him.

morning

I was up late trying to stop that guy replacing his old Casati with another 5 pound frame.

So.....the Aussie thread still lives. Good. Try to hit 10,000 posts.

"If it's not worth doing extreme.....it's not worth doing"

BTW, the forum posts outside are getting pretty boring.

How many steel frames do you have?

Isn't that a variety of ice-cream?

Including the old cheap ones?

The Cervelo, 2 "good" 531 frames, 2 old (heavy) 531 frames, and a cheap Tange frame that's
actually not too bad.

531Aussie 12-23-04 08:01 PM

So, who's gettin' holidays?

Rowan 12-23-04 08:11 PM

I'm actually going to HAVE to do some work here, so I will be in and out over the Christmas-New Year period. I'm saving up some days for a 1000km ride on 2-3-4 January -- I'll need a day or two to recover, methinks.

531Aussie 12-23-04 08:18 PM

I killed a bird with two stones yesterday by doing all my christmas shopping on my bike: 2 trips to Benlteigh, one to JB Hi Fi, and one trip to Southland. I scored 35km in the process.

Gets a bit hard carrying things; especially the outdoor furniture set I got for my parents.

Rowan 12-23-04 08:22 PM

Ahh... that's why I built a six-foot bike trailer. Goes on behind my old steel-framed Apollo MTB. Made of aluminium security mesh -- tough stuff. 20" wheels. I've carried up to 70kg (but that gets a bit tough if there is any incline). Just the ticket for outdoor furniture.

By the way, welcome to utility cycling. It's the end of the world, of cousre -- it shows you're getting too old for racing :D .

I crossed over in 1997. I used to be a "I'm far too cool to commute on my
bike -- it's for serious riding only" kind of guy, but one day I got sick of trying to find
a car park at the gym, so I thought: "jeez, surely I could ride here."
That was it. Next thing I knew I was commuting to the ATM and the 7-11 :p
Then, in 1999, I went to uni, and it was all over. Before I knew it I had six
bikes, and between 1999 and 2001, 90% of my kms were commuted,

Carried an outdoor furniture set with a bike.......Impressive! :D

Crap! You guys forgot to lock the door, and 53-11 snuck in. That'll teach you! Oh, happy holidays to you too, Koffee. Hope you get some roopoo.

Yeah....I used to be that way. Riding only for sport, not ultility.

Hell, I used to drive to the gym then get on a treadmill to walk (then lift weights).....Instead of walking to the gym and just lifting weights.

Ooops... sorry... should have read of your previous posts a bit better (I seem to remember references to riding to the gym). Anyway, props. Makes certain w@nkers look... well, like w@nkers (and I'm not referring tp any of my countrypeople...) ;)

You're sharp, Expat. Sharp.

Rowan 12-23-04 08:50 PM

Well, I figure cask wine has a use-by date on it. And when it's left over from Xmas party time, and it's Xmas eve, and I am the only buggger left here (even the pool outlook from my window is pretty bleak)... I figure a glass or two of medicinal wine can't go astray. A nice Yalumba Cardboard Cab Merlot. Hmmmm...mmmm. And there's some cask white left, too...

Now let's see, which Seppo can I go and pick on... especially from the Big Apple?
