Do you call endurance 1km+, 4km+, or more?

Some of the posts I've read on here about training, nutrition etc have GOT to be flamebait rubbish.

They're just too out there.

Thylacine 12-28-04 09:33 PM

Well, doesn't look like there's any Sri Lanka left to ride around....unless I take the wheels off and add some sort of floatation devices. Man, what a catastrophy. Man, why does everyone at this point in time have some friend or relative sunnin' it up in ****et? My cousin was on an elephant safari thing inland when the waves came in. Woah nelly!

Today's no good but I could go a ride tomorrow or Sunday or something. Who's going to be arround?

Compulsory bike content - Hitchy, I've found a place in the US that has white and silver Ariones for USD105. Very tempted. Hopefully it'll be arse-friendly, coz that'd look spankin' on my bike, especially with white tape :D Summer face-lift for the steed.

The aussies just won the three and a half day road cycling classic against the touring pakistani team.

rockmuncher 12-28-04 09:43 PM

... and the pakistani sprinter shaob aktar wasn't able to power over his bunny (Hayden) in today's criterium event.

Yeah, what about that guy that went to hospital yesterday before he even got on his bike? What's with that? Tell you what, though, that young spinner they've got could be a real thorn in the peloton side when he grows up a bit and gets rid of the killer stare.

All up, I thought the Aussie team deserved its win. If the Pakis put as much effort into their riding as they do staring, they'd be a better side.

And hurts to say, but Warnie rode a blinder. Track seemed to be made for him, though.

Gentlemen :D , I've decided to build a cyclocross bike. Anyone have spare drop bars? And Rowan, suggestions on brakes/shifters would be appreciated.

Basic Psychology 101 - Ways of dealing with disaster

"When dealing with extreme adversity, such as natural disasters or personal trauma, people often use humour to diffuse the enormity of the subject at hand and assist the psyche in dealing with what would otherwise be too large a issue for the mind to deal with - thus oftimes averting mental breakdown or other catastrophic mental colapse."

If you're looking for something cheap, John Kennedy in Melbourne has just had a bunch of ITM copies made in (i'm pretty sure) 26.0mm

I think he musta got Yarra Belly. He had dizzy spells, etc. Nothing found at hospital tho. He was only a domestique anyway, so wouldn't have influenced the outcome.

Got dropped on the run in to the finish.....the Aussies finished way ahead of the fastest predicted average speed.....again.

Geeez, why ask me? I don't do cyclocross. But that lack of experience and knowledge has never stopped me before.... I'd go one of the STI variants -- brake and change gear at the same time. But then you'd probably want V-brakes, so you'd need travel agents to make the levers work properly. Although you could look at the Avid (?) brake levers.

Cyclocross bikes are pretty good for utility cycling, as I understand it.

Go to the cyclocross forum here? I'm sure they'd have more than enough answers for your questions.

(<sigh> It only took one question to really find me out ... that I'm just an idiot <shrug>).

Yeah, but the late-order domestiques still had to work like bugggery to get them over the line yesterday. Dizzie again held up against the attacks by the **** front men.

rockmuncher 12-28-04 10:17 PM

Sheldon Brown has a cyclocross crankset for $299 on this page http://sheldonbrown.com/harris/frenc...ks.html#bottom

No, the aussie machine always had them covered. Most of the breakaways that the pakistanis were able to make on the first day were through sheer luck. They were never going to be able to repeat the perfomance. And they certainly faded badly at the end of the third day. Shame really. Results like this can't be good for world cycling :)
