That's it mate.....even with my swanky 12C calculator, 2 x 0 seems to always equal 0!!!

Brilliant idea. Read anything about a guy named Voltaire?

As in, I may have referenced the wrong guy. Who was it that came home on a really hot day, jumped into an icy cold bath, had a brain embolism and died? It was in France, home of that bike race that's been owned by AMERICA for 6 years now...*

*Obligatory (and inflammatory!) cycling content

Cirrus 01-11-05 05:01 PM

cold showers & icy baths are just a little tiny bit different me thinks ... felt good though!

Ahh another 12c user. I have had one for 15 years. Whenever my wife asks me for a calculator & I chuck her the 12C, she says - I asked for a calculator duuuhh - not this crappy thing that can't add!!

Okay, I had to open this monster up to see what's going on in here since there are 212 pages. I'm obviously NOT going to read every post so can someone tell me what the heck is going on in here and should I be concerned?

It can't be explained. You have to start with the first post and a bag of popcorn. Keep readin until you catch up. Let us know when you're done. :D

Cirrus 01-11-05 05:35 PM

nothing to see here ... just move along!

and given the amazing amount of dribble being spouted ... I'd be very, very concerned! ;)

rockmuncher 01-11-05 05:39 PM

Yesterday's ridin: 4hours total, 5 climbs totalling >60 minutes , 107km, stupid motorists: 0 (WTF????), run-ins with the law: 1, sore legs: 2

Hitchy summed it up nicely in post #2354 all those months ago like this

It shouldn't be long now before this thread is syndicated.

Drivel, if you want to be ulitmately accurate. :D

HobartDave, where were you last night? Your one opportunity to post a time on the Taroona TT that likely will stand as your all-time PB. Beat my previous one by well over 90 seconds -- got into the 16-minute range. Having the Merida roadie helped, as did that howling tailwind. Sid set the all-time record with the 10.59 -- an average speed of 39.33km/h.

sore legs: 4 (mine hurt like hell last night)

Rowan 01-11-05 05:57 PM

Hmmm. Sore legs: still 4. I obviously didn't try hard enough last night.

But I do have a preponderance of slow-twitch fibres, and a low threshhold of pain...

I was up on the organ pipes rock climbing, my rear wheel is being re-spoked, hopefully the buggers will get it back to me today for the group ride. Would have loved the tail wind, how did you handle the heat? Was beautiful up the mountain, only a few gusts that nearly blew me off the cliff.

Bloody 'ell, Sid must have been flying! I'll have to go check out the ATTA website.

Excellent work. When starting a hill climb you don't want to start out too hard.

I've done some calculations and at a rate of 150 posts per hour you're in for nearly 37 hours of reading. You'd better get another bag of popcorn :D

The heat was OK. Better than some of the cr@p cold I've ridden in lately. Sid started before me, so didn't see his style. But it must have been good. Someone said he had just finished a 140km training ride right before the TT. The boy's got some talent!

140km ride, and then set a record! man that's insane. I could hardly move if I'd just ridden 140km. Come to think of it, I've never riddend 140 in a day, I'd probably be dead!

Sometimes your body reacts like that. You come off a hard ride and the next day you feel like superman. The trick is getting that feeling and having enough petrol left in the tank to last the distance.

Rowan 01-11-05 06:46 PM

Hehehehe.

Didn't work for me last week after my 1000km training ride. But then, I did set a new PB last night. Maybe there is some truth in what you say, rocky.
