Hey Munchie, I saw a 'roo in Jeso this morning, out on the bush tracks. How sweet is that?

[edit] I've since been informed it was most likely a wallaby. Anyway, it was cool to see it hopping through the bush.

Your first one is always the one you remember.

Brian 01-21-05 09:19 PM

Oh, I've seen heaps before, just never on a ride. In QLD, I saw dozens just sleeping by the side of the road...

Johnny_Monkey 01-21-05 10:54 PM

There's thousands of the critters in the Flinders Ranges. A veritable plague of biblical proportions.

Brian 01-21-05 11:18 PM

It was just odd to see one down at the end of my street.

Brian 01-23-05 12:18 AM

Where is everyone today? Am I breaking some kind of 24 hours of silence thing? Is there a race on somewhere? Everywhere? *****, someone's having a barby, and didn't invite me! Bastids! I hate you all! Oh, my brother scored me a new set of Ultegra cranks, with BB. Anyone interested? PM or email me.

That's pretty sweeeet given that it's the middle of suburbia! But then again, most seppo's expect us to have one or two pet kangaroos :p

Bike Fest on SBS. Everyone was prolly glued to the box (I was whenever possible). Oh yeah, there was also some cricket on as well.

climbo I won't be doing the ride to Calga coz I'm on recovery week this week. I had a pretty ordinary months training so I'd better rest up so I can try to do it properly in Feb  I hate repeatin classes!

the easier pace might suit Paul tho. If only he could manage to get himself out of bed :p

right-o, I may still go if it's dry-ish.

I caught some of the Bay Classic on telly yesterday. Better than Seinfeld reruns I guess.
No ride reports this weekend - the woman forced me to dig holes in the garden - but I'm off singlespeeding tonight with a mate which should be fun.

Oh yeah, Hitchy, if you're still alive, check ya inbox mate.

Brian 01-24-05 01:24 AM

Well, no one seems to have a hangover, so I guess there was no party without me.

Thylacine 01-24-05 03:09 PM

Are you kidding? I had 398 beers this weekend. It will take me all week just to detox.

Fortunately, I am on the 'Amber nectar liquid carbs' cycling diet, and so far, it's treating me well I must say :)

Beer of Summer 05 - Hansa Pilsner from Dortmund, Germany.

Gotta love the 500ml bottles and that clean, fresh, hoppy goodness!

Did I mention it's only about 15 bucks for s six-pack?

rockmuncher 01-24-05 10:16 PM

You blokes enjoy Australia Day tomorrow, and don't let your resolve to diet weaken! :D

May all your beer be cold and satisfying.

Brian 01-25-05 12:21 AM

Australia Day. A day off from not working, I need that. Hope everyone has a good one.

Bloody stuffin!!! Where you getting that from? 15 for a 6 pack at 500mls? I'd go that even if it tasted like rat piss. :D

badsac 01-25-05 12:27 AM

Oh hey. Remember how the rear OEM tire on my Roubaix got a wobble in it which wore away and blew the tube out? Well my next tire of a completely different brand has just done the same thing. Dous it happen to you guys all the time? I'm only getting about 1000km's out of these things with them going like that. :(

badsac 01-25-05 12:29 AM

Oh yeah. Australia day. Just an excuse for a holiday. Not that I'm complaining. Yes have a good one you fellas. :D

Thylacine 01-25-05 12:35 AM

Naw, my tires are fine. Back one is very warn out after 3000kms, but no blowouts. Maybe somehow the diameter of your rim is slightly outta spec? Maybe it's a mal-adjusted brake pad rubbing on the sidewall??

Yeah, Hansa kicks arse. Quality drop for the money. Makes CUB look like the cat's p¡ss that it is.

badsac 01-25-05 12:40 AM

It's damn hard to get tires on and off this rim, so it being out of spec could be an option. But I never use the back brake so I doubt it's that.

Arggg. I've just got beer running through my brain right now. I'm off to haraunge all the local bottlos to see if that can get in some of this Hansa stuff. :)

531Aussie 01-25-05 02:02 AM

Is tomorrow a pubic holiday? BOOOOO! No bike shops open, but at least the cricket's on
