i want a racer, im thinking of riding along beach rd.
any idea what would be decent for 500 secondhand?

...a $500 bike on beach Rd?......well you better buy some lights as well.....Its unconstitutional to ride anything on beach rd during daylight hours worth less than $5K......the cycle police will get ya

.

I doubt you'll get anything with STI levers.

What size are you?

Measure the distance fron the boney part of your crotch to the floor, like this:

NO SHOES

Andy Hampsten used a prototype STI in 1988.....looked hilarious.

Yeah, you boney part of your arse bone, right behind your ball-bag.

If it's 80cm it means you need about a 54cm bike.

Ando-TVM
Hampsten-7-Eleven

Phil and TVM was working very closely with Shimano as well....does anyone else remember those god-awful Kirk magnesium frames they rode about 15 years ago??

The guy who invented them used to reverse his car over it, then pick it up and ride off!!

Anderson says Shimano sent him, as a gesture for all his work, a 25th anniversary Dura-Ace set with the
serial #000000000000002 -- serial #0000000000000001 is in the Shimano musem.

So, if Hampsten has #0000003, we'll know who deserves the most credit. :D

I've seen that set....you get a cool Dura-Ace Seiko watch and it all comes in a groovy case.

Done! My wallets $4000 lighter. :D

Ended up with the pedals they were offering for free. Should see them. Dirty, scratched greasy second hand things. Bloody shocking. But what can one expect for free right?

thanks guys for the help and being so friendly

Nah, they only had a 56 in the store. To big. So they'll have a 54 in hopefully by friday.

To be sure there'll be pics to come when i get it. Poor bloody thing will look a bit ordinary with crappy second hand pedals and R540 wheels. But we've all got to start somehwere right? Should be the perfect frame for my riding, so I couldn't ask for much more.

What's the best picture of it you've found so far? The one on the Specialized site?
