Anyone ever make a cut-out in a regular saddle?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Your comment about the adductors is just what I was saying about taking out too much near the edge.
So, I finally got a Dremel, and it's ten times better for this job than I thought it was gunna be.

While people msy find that cutout saddles work for them, it's not due to the cutout. It's because the saddle supports their weight correctly.

You're supposed to sit on your sitz bones, not your perineum. If the saddle supports you correctly, there's no pressure in the area that's cutout on some saddles cutout or no.
Right and wrong all at the same time. Getting pressure off the perineum may REQUIRE a cut-out saddle. There's a ton of good science in this area. See the comments before about Cervelo. Fizik's saddle fitting model is also quite good. SMP has done excellent research as well.

Machak is to some extent right that better core strength, flexibility, etc would solve these issues, this amounts to a totally idiotic proposition. The idea that I should quit cycling and spend a year doing yoga and core exercises, just so I can comfortably cycle is absurd. I have a Selle SMP Dynamic and it made a huge difference in terms of numbness.

You're the one with the "totally idiotic proposition".

No one here suggested quitting cycling and spending a year doing yoga and core exercises.

Most of the rest of us incorporate core exercises into our regular activities along with cycling. It only takes about 6 weeks of regular core exercises, approx. 10-15 minutes a day, to build up a decent core. You can even do that while watching TV.

I purchased a super light 165 gram Carbon saddle that needed a bit of comfort ...

Modifications included a dozen 3/4" diameter holes bored through the underside shell.
