41 Kit Order Interest
#126
I guess everyone has different struggles in life and I'm fortunate that my finances are in good standing, but to me, the price doesn't really seem that bad for a quality kit. I've blown $200 on drinks at the bar before. Putting things in perspective, this seems like a deal.

You lurk, and read, and post, and rant, and ask the same quetion over and over! YOUR part of this 41!

I'd hate to order this kit late and be out in an uncomfortable pair of shoes another summer.
If I held a job all year and didn't compete as a student-athlete, I wouldn't have this limitation.

As in school starts, and my finances are frozen. No cash in, very little cash out. About the only thing I need to make sure I save for is a new pair of cycling shoes, which I plan on purchasing when 2013s go on sale.

How many commitments do we have now? How many more do we need to order the jersey? I'm still in and will stay in even if this takes 3 more months to accomplish.

Not to hijack this process, but I took some initiative and called Primal (they are right up the road from me). They have always been a pleasure to deal with and I gleaned lots of good information. Their minimums are much lower (15), and despite the detractors, they have a solid reputation (National sponsor for MS rides). They provide both race and club cuts and many other details (like grippers, chamois) I can share if anyone wants to pursue this on a faster track than waiting for the 40 minimum (is that right?) for Capo.
enjoi, am I to understand the design is public domain at this point?

I am not wedded to Capo. Hell, I am not wedded to Primal either. Never heard of either of them before this thread. I just want a kit with this design. At this price point there is not much to choose between suppliers. Let's just do it.

If it is ok with enjoi and David, I'd like to run with this to Primal. If those who dissented on Primal would like to reconsider after all questions have been answered, I would add you to the list. I have considered what happens if someone bails or if we ordered a couple more extras (I'd front the dough) and with Tom's permission could sell them at face value +shipping to new interest. Not sure if Primal takes care of logistics or not, but considering the small amount of interest thus far, a PayPal account be easy enough for me to do the shipping duties.
Let me know what you guys think.

We used Primal for our MS150 Team this year. Overall, I was pretty pleased with the kit . My only concern is with the bibs being somewhat transparent. We upgraded to the Pro T9 bibs. Bib cost was $85 and jersey cost was $65. I thought the prices were reasonable for the quality. Here's a linky to the primal custom products page:

I'm still interested in a jersey only (L), not sure where we're all at with totals. Perhaps I missed this part, is it paypal, or is there a store front from which we order it?

I'm failing to see the cost savings?

It is more about getting it done rather than trying to drum up 15 more orders. I am working with a custom rep from Primal by phone and may do jerseys anyway. As long as Tom is ok with 'selling' them for no profit, I bet I could get rid of 15 L/XL jerseys pretty darn quick. I just don't see the Capo path gaining foot traffic.
Here is the Price breakdown. Prices are actually better than estimated.
15-50 Race/Sport/Club SS jersey: $55
Bibs are priced based on fabric and chamois (they can send samples to me), anywhere from $65-$125
Caps: 50 minimum, $12/ea

it's a great no-nonsense design. as I'm no longer racing, I don't wear sponsor/team kits, so I look for things with little logo presence. But, the 41 design is so slick, i'd be tempted to order multiples. and if it doesn't pan out, i'll use the design elements to make some personal kits.

enjoi will be receiving his kit gratis, so we will collectively split that. I am PMing Tom to see if I get extras if they can be sold for no profit to forum members through the site without breaking any rules.
Will know more today/tomorrow about fulfillment - worst case, I front the cash and mail it myself. You can use the spreadsheet below to indicate interest (jersey, bib, cap) and when the time comes, you can forward your mailing address if paying by check or if you use PayPal, it will go to the verified address.

Awright, I am officially taking on the task. As fate would have it, I am taking my daughter to DIA (Denver Intnt'l) tomorrow and can cruise by Primal HQ on the way home to check out bib quality re: fabrics/chamoises. OR, we can make this real easy and just start with jerseys, adding bibs later when the second wave of interest hits. I have to admit though, the bibs look really good. Since the minimum is 15 per style, for those who like shorts we would need 15 of those. Since bibs are the prevailing favorite, we would go with bibs otherwise.
