Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Ever been attacked by a wolf while riding...?

My favorite line:

"At first, Hollan tried to out-race the wolf, but the predator reeled him in with the ease of a peloton erasing the lead of a dope-free breakaway rider."

not entirely related, but when i had my first job as a cashier couple miles away from where i used to live, i ride a mountain bike to work. there was one day after work, i was riding home through the neighborhood at around 10pm. a couple were working on something in their garage, and the garage gate's wide open, they have a chihuahua, and it started to chase me. i wasnt afraid of little dog, but it gets closer and closer to my wheels, and i dont want to run it over, so i started to swirling to the left, but i was totally not paying attention to what's ahead, so i ended up hitting a car's back really hard. i went over the bar, and the bike's fork bended inward, i ended up crash on the road really hard and left big bruise on my knees and hands. the stupid chihuahua was just standing there and barking at me. the dog owner ran to me ans asking me if i was alright, i was afraid to wake up the car's owner so i took off on a broken bike. the following day i went back to see the car, it's got a big dent on the rear bumper. i was pretty pissed off for the following weeks.

"We were towing a trailer behind my orange Hummer, and we couldn't stop fast enough," Klassen said.

Good job, of working your Hummer into the story Klassen

Get them in Clairemont especially in early spring. Every year the same thing... New pups leaving the canyons, enter the residential area and the missing kitty posters going up over the next few days

Knuckleheads in Claremont leave their little cats to wander vs. keeping em' in the house and they cry about it later. But heck, cat lives are cheap. Same with their little yappy dogs.

We had to sign a waiver saying we would keep ours inside when we adopted it. Living near canyons it should be common sense. The coyotes are very bold. A friend of mine let her yappy dog out to take a dump and watched in bewilderment as a a coyote ran across her patio grabbed fido by the neck and ran (like the scene from "Fish called Wanda"). Her daughter ran after it screaming and the 'yote dropped it prior to jumping the fence. Dog was Ok after putting a down payment on the vets new Porsche.

Oh yeah, all the time. I just look directly at them and say "No! Bad wolf" and they stop and go home. Works every time.

Had it been a wolf - the down payment would be for a Aventador.
