Question on cassette spacers- help please
I have Ksyrium SL wheels. Taking off a Shimano 10 speed cassette and putting on a SRAM. When I got the wheels originally, I needed to add a thick spacer in addition to the original thin one between the biggest cog and the hub. That was with the Shimano cassette. The SRAM cassette comes with no spacers, but I assume I need at least one of the two I was running. Which spacer do I need? I'd I run both, the cassette is too wide so you can't get the nut on the end. I was thinking the thick one, but it seems to be adjusted better with the thin one. So call me confused. Thanks for any help.

I don't know for sure, but Duke Ellington said "If it sounds good, it is good!" Perhaps, if it works right, it is right?
Edit: I didn't look, did you also post this in the Bicycle Mechanics forum?

You always need the Mavic spacer. Put the Mavic spacer on, then the SRAM cassette. More importantly, it helps to understand the principle behind spacers on freehubs. What you are trying to do is put everything together and still have enough slack for the cassette top lock to compress everything down nicely.

Thanks all. It seems the thick (Mavic) spacer is correct, which is obvious to me in hindsight. I tried just that one and just the thin one. The Mavic one makes everything line up correctly with no adjustments needed.

Where did that graph come from? Cogs are loosening after longer rides with lots of climbing on my Campy 10 speed cassette on the Ksyrium SL wheel. I am thinking of adding a spacer...just to get it to lock solid.
btw: Anyone know a good place to find the Mavic spacer?
