Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Thinking about a different wheel spec:

Novatec lightweight hubs
KinLin XC-279 rims
DT Swiss Competition spokes with brass nipples
32/28

really great. it was crowded, there were a ton of people. we had to park almost a mile away from the lake access point, so between that, the mile hike on the lake to get to the caves, and then the mile of shoreline we poked around in, we did about six miles. we spent too much time messing around early on where there were a lot of small (and sometimes screaming) children, and things were pretty trampled.

the icetrekkers were great, and i'm glad i bought them. definitely had an easier time in some places with them.

it was also a really nice getaway with a couple of girlfriends. estro-bonding is something i don't get to do nearly enough of, and i should really do more often.

I wish there was beetroot! There are carrots, broccoli and other greens

It's 1 part carrot juice and two parts Bolthouse Farms Green Goodness.

PINEAPPLE JUICE FROM CONCENTRATE (WATER, PINEAPPLE JUICE CONCENTRATE), APPLE JUICE FROM CONCENTRATE (WATER, APPLE JUICE CONCENTRATE), MANGO PUREE FROM CONCENTRATE (WATER, MANGO PUREE CONCENTRATE), BANANA PUREE, KIWI PUREE, SPIRULINA, NATURAL FLAVOR, CHLORELLA, ZINC SULPHATE, GREEN TEA, SPINACH, BROCCOLI, VITAMIN C (ASCORBIC ACID), BARLEY GRASS, WHEAT GRASS, ECHINACEA, GARLIC, JERUSALEM ARTICHOKE, LEMON BIOFLAVONOID, NOVA SCOTIA DULSE.

I just finished a pint glass with 1 part each of carrot and Green Goodness and 2 parts coco water. Now having a pint that's one part each Monster and Coco water. I averaged over 14 mph today, need some massive recovery drink action!

My wallet would be happy. More than one person has compared the XC-279 favorably to the HED Belgium and it's half the price.

Last time I talked to psimet, he was building a ton a 279 wheels. Reviews from Vanderkitten were very positive.
