Front wheel between 195 and almost 205 Kg as I went around it. The guy who showed me how to build it didn't want me to use the tension meter much, because he didn't want me to focus on that versus true and hop. I very much like the Sun CR18 rim. It has a very nice look.

Casually Deliberate
I was driving two nights ago at dusk, on a 4 lane road that we have actually discussed in this thread before: Onondaga Lake Parkway, where tractor trailers and buses wedge themselves under a low bridge. There was a cyclist headed the opposite direction, well illuminated with blinky front light and blinky rear. I was impressed with how bright they were. Immediately after I passed him, he went to cross over the road, to salmon his way into the village. I know this because I was watching in the review mirror.
My interesting observation: As it was dusk, once he was no longer parallel to the road (crossing at an angle), both of his blinkies disappeared. As he crossed four lanes of traffic, he was invisible, and then reappeared on the side he was now salmoning. I have always believed my blinkies made me highly visible all the time. They disappear easily at an angle.
My only reason for saying it is that it is something that I didn't realize, and wanted to share, for safety and such.

i still haven't moved any dishes or cookware besides the one small saucepan, tea kettle, mug, plate, bowl, and set of silverware i originally took with me. i do really need to grab some glasses next time as fancy belgian ale just isn't the same out of a coffee mug. i didn't even bring a good knife.
i am determined however, to see how long i can live without a microwave or television. i don't have a coffee maker, and have been enjoying just using a french press, and heating milk to froth on the stove. (i have a $3 milk frothing wand thingy.)

Yep, totally the same idea. I've had to do that a lot over the years as a user interface designer. Translating between clients and creatives and the back end guys who all speak completely different languages. I figure it's very much the same thing, and my biggest concern when there is a conflict is "why" - what happened, how do we fix it.
I'll also sometimes have to pull parts and push bikes around.
I'd been looking and interviewing for creative project manager positions. It's funny to me that I'm ending up with that job in a totally different industry.

Think of it as reinvention. We need to do that sometimes to keep ourselves fresh. Sometimes we get too comfortable, and we let the opportunities slip by. Sometimes, the change in circumstances is forced, as in your case.
If you've raced bikes, you know your stuff. Be aware that you and your employer have been doing sell jobs on each other, and that things might not necessarily be as bright and happy as you hope it to be. You will make mistakes and feel like a real idiot. Learn, and take advice, and if there are sarcastic comments, let them slide over.
It might not be a fortune, or even near your previous earnings. But right now, it's a darned sight better than what you've had in the past couple of months.
Good luck with it, truckstop. Stay positive and determined and it will work for you.

I like Melbourne. It has a real cosmopolitan feel about it, and the people aren't up themselves like Sydneysiders who think they own and run the country.
Cycling is pretty big in Melbourne, with lots of bike paths and trails. Good public transport, and the Victorian countryside is excellent for all sorts of riding. You can even do centuries without hills!!
We didn't live in Melbourne, rather about 100km to the north (Alexandra). Real estate is a bit expensive, both to buy and to rent. But there is a very active arts scene, a lot of pubs, and there are quite a few Asians who attend university or have immigrated permanently to the city (just so you can feel a bit at home). There are, of course, the requisite expat Poms, too, so you can feel even more at home.
Climate is temperate and good. Summer days can exceed 40 deg C for 10 days over summer. The winters can be dreary, dull and damp, but entirely survivable.

a pom mate of mine told me about an opportunity that might suit me that he saw. he recommends i try for it. i've always heard people love living there but it is a bit too expensive. how much would one have to get paid to live there and be able to save?
