Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Wow, HorN melts down because no one can articulate why tire/valve alignment is a good, non-vanity induced practice? Am I really the only person that gets flats?

I like the pressure spec next to the stem. If I get a mystery flat, I know where to start looking due to placement of the stem in relation to the tire label. Simple stuff is simple..

Yeah, if I had a bunch of bikes with different air pressure specs, I'd probably probably do that, too. As it is, locating puncture/debris relative to the label saves me a heck of a lot more trouble than pressure reminders would.

Like I said, it's not mandatory, but it is practical. And to me, just seems silly not to do it. Would I give a bike a "not" because of of it, no, but I would chuckle under my breath about it.

Previous post a bad idea, opens the door for them to bring their BS in here.

Sorry Billy, hope I wasn't one of the offenders. I always tried to be somewhat nice. That thread was fun tho. I guess I always thought if you posted your bike in it, you should be prepared to take the lumps.

Most of mentions of the stupid "rules" are said in jest, I think, which is fine as long as people realize that it's in jest. The far more seriously stupid **** is when people actually advocate drastic changes to fit so that the bike aligns with whatever their idea of hot is. That's just dumb.

I'd give anything if someone here would post a bike, "Hot or Not", would be irrelevant. On the other hand, getting away from all the wordy drivel that goes on in here would be such a treat. Keep your posts to two lines people or take it to audiobook. Zzzzzzzzzz.....
