Good morning Addicts. "We ride at dawn". We being me & my magic bike.
Then we get a flat & miss our train to work. First flat tire in 4500 miles of cycling, though, I can't complain about that. Changed it 90% on my own, too, until a nice guy on a yellow Lemond stopped to help me finish.
But here's something I can complain about: can you guys believe I still don't have my carbon seat post?! This has been going on since March 8. BMC rep promised the seat post by the end of April, saying that he was only giving me that date because it was such an over-estimate, he didnt want be to be disappointed. Then I had to call him twice to even find out that he is now saying next week. He is very lucky this bike is magic or I wouldn't have too much positive to say about BMC.

Some wildflower shots on Hwy 20, going through Colusa and Lake counties.
I finally stopped to eat for the first time since breakfast in Williams, a very small, Central Valley, farm town
about an hour North of Sacramento..I had the filet medallions. It is a mistake to order seafood in a small,
Central Valley, farm town. The panorama is of Williams' main street from the one traffic control in town.
A lot of the ag towns have an entrance archway which was put up to celebrate something or other.
The one for Modesto says, "Water, Wealth, Contentment, Health". In Williams, it just says 'Williams".
I went up to see some bike tools being donated to our co-op and to bring them back. Quite the historical adventure, as they were from an old Schwinn shop.

There's this new beginning, with the promise of bountiful harvests. Whatever agricultural disappointments
are going to ensue in the summer and fall still seem far in the future. It's also interesting to see which
orchards get ripped out, which get replanted, and with what. Much more grapes going in up there where
there used to be nuts and peaches.
In travelling the short stretch from Williams, through Lakeport, and on to Ukiah you get an interesting cross
section of California. Upscale farmers and the immigrants who work for them, the outlaw bikers and indian
casinos of lake county, and the food co-op Mendocino/original inhabitants conglomeration left over from the
timber and mill industries in Ukiah.

Not be obnoxious of course, just a regular nice person who is obviously American.

We love biking in NYC. We love biking at the beach. We love wearing the latest fashions. We don’t love our skirts blowing up, scarves blowing off & pants getting greasy in the chain, so we developed the Tandem NY Skirtweight ~ an accessory that simply clips-on to the hemline of your skirt to keep it from flowing up while you’re riding on!

I think you and @3alarmer post some beautiful photos of your state, and Moe @LesterOfPuppets has great shots of his area. We have seen beautiful Arizona shots, and Colorado shots. Nothing from Florida yet.
Whooshie lives in beautiful country. I hate to sound sappy, but there are a lot of very good areas in this country to live, and I don't think anyone is superior to another.

I hope you aren't plopping me in the "California Hater" bucket, because I really don't. I am, however, a lover of New York State, and too often end up feeling like I have to defend it. There are large swatches of this state I have not visited, and am now looking at doing by bicycle, and I plan to regurgitate photos here as I do it.
I think you and @3alarmer post some beautiful photos of your state, and Moe @LesterOfPuppets has great shots of his area. We have seen beautiful Arizona shots, and Colorado shots. Nothing from Florida yet. Whooshie lives in beautiful country. I hate to sound sappy, but there are a lot of very good areas in this country to live, and I don't think anyone is superior to another.
