Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Obviously you are a serious photographer and I wanted to say that I love the technical quality of this photo. So sharp that you can read the lettering on the tires. Minimal depth of field but both brake levers are still in focus. The yellow leaves complement the similar color on the bike. Gnarled, rusty thing on the left edge for interest. Beautiful.

Thanks Montag, photography is my other big passion The gnarled rusty thing is a work of art by Jörgen Martinsson called "Tre väktare" (Three Guards) from 1982. After 25 years in Lund, I never noticed it before I made this shot.

I hope this one makes your blood run thick: 2003 USPS Team 5900 with 7800 stuff. That big Powertap head unit just makes it dirtier.

Only way it could be fuglier would be if it had a steel frame.

I dunno. I agree about the head unit, but other than that I think it's a good looking bike. By no means hot, but entirely presentable.

Thanks! Yeah, I actually really dig it. 7800 Dura Ace stuff has a different era look, but is a total dream to ride -- and I like having the option to put my hands on the big knobs on top of the levers. Someday, I bet the USPS team will at least seem very much part of cycling history. So it's cool to think of this bike being woven into something so large.

As to the Trek USPS, I also like it. It's a good looking older frame. Not exactly Hot but "really nice looking for her age".

Never been a fan of those handle bars, but the bike looks great! 5.52 is some feather light weight too!

Even 5.60 complete is fantastic! Berk has really come out with some great stuff. Curious how his carbon saddle feels and how durable it is.

I think they still look great, although the mismatching fork looks a bit odd to me.

coppercook62, I have to say, one of the best looking road bikes I've seen. Huge fan of the black on blue, well done.

Here's my 2005 Giant OCR 1 rebuild, similar look, much more modest. Converted to 1x10 as a fast, fun urban steed. Don't rag on me too hard, I'm aware my valve stems are the wrong length, haha.

That's a slap in the face to say your bike is similar to Coppercooks bike. Just because it has a blue frame, doesn't make it similar in any form or fashion. In fact, it is different in almost EVERY way.

Thought it was pretty obvious the similarities ended at "black on blue"... I'll take that as a "Not"

I honestly kind of like it. Outside the box, for sure. I'd prefer it on a heavy steel frame for durability, but I like the idea.
