Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Smacks of off the floor stock a bit too much for me, but since I'm partial to Fuji Roubaix's I'll give it a hot.

Bikes: Cannondale CAAD12, Specialized Rockhopper, Norco Fluid FS1

CAAD needs black chainrings, Evo needs a black seatpost and a shorter steerer.

I like the look of gumwalls idk

The gumwalls are Veloflex Record 22s. They could be pink and I'd use them.

You described the stock bike.

You're right. Every bike that has matching bar tape to saddle and black seatpost is obviously stock.

Nobody said leave it stock.

Close. Not the seat (it is the same as on the Cannondale), not the cable housing, not the pedals, not the hubs, not the cassette, not the skewers, not the tires, not the steer tube expander bolt, not the steer tube cap and not 2 red bolts.

ohhhhhh......ok gotcha. I was confused because all the colors flowed together without a red seat post to slap me in the face with such wow factor that I just assumed it was stock.

You are almost 100% correct sir. It's all stock except for the saddle. I thought for off the floor, it looked pretty hot myself. I've even fought the urge to buy new wheels just because I like the look of the circle bricks that are on it.

I'm ok with it slapping me in the face with color. Also ok with the white cages. NOT ok with the gum walls, it's the only piece of color that matches nothing else on the bike! And it looks like you're trying too hard. Great tires, huh? Ok, get 'em in black then. Or red for that matter. But gum walls don't work here, IMNSHO. (In my not so humble opinion) ;-)

Otherwise? It's awesome.

13lbs, 7oz

This was for a 15 year old. Next year UCI weight matters for only a few races and we will have a different bike. Either the MASI (which needs 1.5lbs) or a Venge, or a Look 795. All require weight to be added - for a few races.

If you're buying your son 13 pound bikes at 15, I'd hope you'll at least get him a smoking, sputtering 1980 Volvo for his first car to even things out.
