Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

So, I got one of them cleaned up and ready to go, and here it is under flat lighting.

I don't think it looks so much better this way. The wheels are kinda flashy, if the light hits them right, and at some angles it looks kinda badass, but on the whole I can't say I prefer the looks of it without all the extra stuff on it.
And by the way, it used to have two bottle cages, but they didn't match, and I found I'd just as soon carry the second bottle in my back pocket, so that's one thing I DO like about this setup - from a practical AND aesthetic standpoint.

It does look better without the fenders tho.

Aside from the stem - a recent mod to add 10mm, which I agree looks wreck-ish - what makes you say that? The carved frame? The markings on the shifters (a recent replacement)? The homely crank set?

Funny thing; I selected this bike because I liked its looks more than the other two or three options presented at the time, often I get compliments on it (mostly from folks who don't know much, like "wow - what's that made of, carbon fiber?" Well, yeah...), and when I see it sometimes I think it looks pretty hot, especially with these wheels. But in this clinical photograph, I have to agree, it's a not. Maybe because from it you can tell I'm a rather lame old man. On the other hand, with the fenders and junk on it, it's more personalized and it looks like I get good use out of it.

Speaking from a purely aesthetic standpoint,

The huge spacer stack under the stem
Stem flipped up
Saddle pushed all the way back on the rails
I was never a fan of the way those speed sensors looked
Ergo bars look awful
That bottle cage is pretty bad also

I'm sure it rides well, but this is the Hot r Not thread, after all.

Hot-ish... needs two bottle cages and it does look like you might've been better off with one size larger possibly. Not a fan of the stealth look, but this is a hot frame with some nice stuff on it, just not quite to the hot build level.

Not up to the hot or not staging criteria, but I actually think the bike is pretty darn hottt... I dig the holes in fork and seat stays, makes it unique. Also, I like the brake calipers, never was a fan of the frames where they place them under the bb shell where it's a pain to work on and they catch a ton of crud. Nice bike!

Guess you don't have much motivation to switch wheels between them, but it should work - right?

Right. They're both 11 speed right? What could possibly go wrong?

^ that is supposed to work quite well, actually. But doesn't appear to be a need for his set-up.
