Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

IMO, the changes are not very significant (to justify the price, if you are on a budget).

I like the looks of the Culprit Croz Blade for $1895. Rim or disc brake, and tons of color options. Culprit Bicycles

Bikes: 2014 Kestrel Talon

Take a Look at Kestrels

Giant Propel Advanced looks pretty good, MSRP $2300 but maybe I can find some deals closer to winter. Any others?
You may want to take a look at Kestrel. My Kestrel Talon was $1,399 and is not a TRUE aero frame but they have others that are for under $2,000....

Looks nice. What's up with disk brake setup though, is that really getting traction in roadie world? And pricing does not make sense. At $1895, plus $300 shipping from Taiwan, plus no mention of warranty whatsoever and no stateside dealers through which the warranty could possibly be provided, I might as well get Giant Propel Advanced for 2300+tax from a local store. Unless this one is supposed to be superior to Advanced and competitive with Advanced SL.

Curious observation. Culprit Croz Blade and Williams Aeros Genesis are ostensibly unrelated frames made by unrelated manufacturers (one is in Taiwan, the other is in California), but, on close examination, they may as well be twins. Curves are the same, internal wiring ports are in the same places, even FD mounts are identical. The only differences I can see are disk brake mounts and a notch in the fork for front rim brake on Culprit, and bulging seatstays on Williams. (There may be more, but Culprit only has one side shot of the frame on its website). And front fork of Aeros Genesis looks very similar to Culprit Arrow One.

P.S. OK, one more difference is that Aeros Genesis has the rear rim brake in its traditional location (on seatstays), and Croz Blade has it on chainstays. And Williams admits: "Williams partnered with the last high end carbon frame manufacturer in Taiwan. This factory produces high end frames for some of the most prestigious global cycling brands."

Have you contacted Culprit with a question about their warranty? I find it hard to believe that they don't have one on their products.

I found this:

Of course one must wonder about potential warranty issues when buying a bike on-line from an overseas seller. Culprit GM Joshua Colp says there’s no need for concern. “If [one of our bikes] has a defect we will cover all costs,” Colp wrote in an email. “If we made mistakes or if a part is defective, we will send out replacement parts or a bike and pay for the part change in a local shop.”

The warranty process starts by email, added Colp. “We ask our customers to show us the problem by image and explain it. If we cannot resolve it by email or phone call we ask them to go to a local shop with knowledge to confirm what the problem is then action is taken after that. All products come with three-year manufacturer warranty of defect. We also offer a three-year crash replacement policy on our bikes. The first year is a 40 percent discount from retail, second is 30 percent, the third is 20. The customer pays shipping on the crash replacement parts from Taiwan, though. Bottom line, I am confident Culprit is capable of handling warranty issues.”

That seems pretty fair.

Culprit Croz Blade Aero road bike with versality, road rim or disc brakes

Hi, My name is Joshua, I am the person mentioned about about warranty issues. We have had one to date and that was replacing derailluer hangers which we are doing as we speak.

We are very fast at replying to emails and resolving those issues. Since we know who all our customers are, it gives us more knowledge of where they are and how we can help them.

To address the issue of Willams and Culprit. Culprit is made by Trigon factory and so is the Willams frame. However, you will find for 2015, we have updated the frame mold, changed our cable routing, have a new seat stay to fit up to 160 mm rotors and more compliance and we also own the patent on the fork that allows the 2 in 1 design.

https://www.google.com/patents/USD67...ed=0CBwQ6AEwAA

Our bike is the best priced paint to order bikes on the market and all our carbon is top notch. Every review to date has been positive, there has not been one bad article or post on us yet. We are still young and growing and with time increases brand awareness and exposure. I hope you would consider buying one of our 2015 bikes. The new Croz blade has more colour options than before and looks amazing.

Culprit Croz Blade

Joshua
