Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I just bought another Veloce cassette. Since I need it in time for P2P, I didn't buy it from Ribble. So it cost like twice as much, but it'll be here Thursday.

Fuggin facepalm - my brother named me in this gaddamned ice bucket challenge. Good thing he didn't actually tag me on the facebook post, or anything, so I can feel free to ignore it.

I positively refuse to participate in chain anything on facebook. If I want to support a cause, I'll write a check.

First ride with the power meter was going well until I rolled over a monster thorn, got a flat, then was assisted (despite my assurances that I was ok) by a nice guy who unbelievably deployed both of my air cartridges without any air getting into my tube just as the sun went down and I realized I forgot my cell phone. Nice guy did let me use his phone though before he rode off into the twilight.

I don't understand how choosing between two bikes is a rap battle? Isn't it just a choice? Between two bikes?

Exactly. I will use this as a reminder to donate, but it will most surely not be to this ALS group, simply because I don't appreciate having socially-pressured chain mails foisted upon me.

I actually need to shop for one of those. My last HPX-3 disappeared somehow.

I got a mini pump for $8 a little while ago and used it for the first time last night. It took approximately 4,321 strokes to get a 1.75" tyre up to 45 psi.

I could have done that. In fact, there's a good chance I would have done that if I tried to "help."
