Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It was kind of funny really. At first, there was NO WAY he was leaving me by myself to fix the flat. Then once he'd deployed both of the air cartridges he basically said "you good?" before starting to ride off. Uh, no, not good, can I use your phone please?

That's because you bought all those tubes. The flat gods are gonna make you blow through the whole batch.

...my favorite thing with those mini pumps is when you tear the valve stem on your tube
because you had to pump it so many times. It's just very satisfying in a Catholic school kind of way.

This pic is also with my small bottles. My big (25 oz) bottles take up more space. The one of the seatpost tube barely fits, it takes up almost all available vertical space.

We had a yummy salad of tomatoes, red onion, lemon juice, and feta that LoP made. I microwaved corn with the husk on and served it with mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese, and sriracha. I think I scared him a little by how fast I ate my two ears of corn but I could have totally eaten a third one. When fresh corn gets cheap, I can eat them as fast as I cook them even with only a hint of curry and salt.

Your long straight line along the underside of the downtube looks promising.

How does it attach to tube?

...my old man had a story about eating a dozen ears of sweet corn up on one of the relatives' farms in Canada,
and when someone remarked that it seemed excessive and dared him to eat another, he did.

I try to limit myself to no more than three at a sitting now, for fear of ending up like @coasting.

If no other way, Velcro tm strapping, available at your local Home Depot tm.

But if you can manage it under the top tube, if you buy the proper length (they come
in different lengths and are spring loaded) it just holds itself in between two angles of the frame.

We just learned that one of those big buildings with the orange-aproned employees is going in nearly across the street from my Walmart. Maybe now we can get the metric hardware we need to repair the grills made in China.

Hey @patentcad, we just got back from seeing the Mets at Oakland. The A's won.

The A's stadium seems to be state if the art, circa 1975.

We are coming home tomorrow. I will do my best to put some ride pics together for a report.

...the local Homer hangout has an admirable selection of metric nuts and bolts that
has made my bicycle life considerably easier. M4's and up in a variety of heads and
finishes. My water bottle and rack mounts have never before looked this good.

...I have lived in the general vicinity of the Bay Area (thus Oakland) since 1983, and have yet to attend an A's game.
In my defense, Oakland frightens me a little bit, except for the part over bordering Berserkeley.

I strap one of these on one end of top tube. Other end jams into crotch at other end of top tube.

BMC has no top tube crotch in back so peg would have to go back there. Dunno if smallest hpx is small enough. Might have to go mini pump. Road morph or the like..
